i won't get the s25 ultra at the price at which I'll get iphone 17 base in Jan 26. s25 ultra will most likely be 30% expensive as per my guess. Otherwise yeah I would have gone for the s25 ultra.

hmm well yeah base price you are right but I think if we are speaking pound for pound money wise, the s25 ultra is more worth the money than the base iphone 17 is even the s24 ultra is which is cheaper atm, i wouldnt even compare it to the base model, only the pro model. Also, samsung usually have incredible deals, last week where i live it was 25% discounted off the bat and if you sell your phone to the store it was an additional 25% so totaling 50%, if you want the ultra maybe wait for black friday? and if you are getting it in january, the s26 ultra is coming out then, the s25 ultra will drop in price just so you know.

I waited for the apple event so i wouldnt regret not looking at the new iphone before switching to the ultra but i really regret that i did that because that amazing deal is gone now... :(

There is nothing that has come from the iPhone 17 that makes me think of moving from android.

Most of the stuff they are putting into their phones has been in Samsung for a while anyway.

S26 will piss all over the iphone 17

where are the cameras on the s25? where's the consistency? where's the optimisation on the social media applications? there demo piece literally has bugs that didn't let me open any applications in store. why should I buy a phone that has software that bad. I don't like apple charging a foot and an arm for repairs and accessories either but they are good if your requirement is a decent camera and social media experience.

Outside of a more powerful CPU, nothing new is industry leading in categories they were not leading in.

Selfie camera is a max 24 megapixels. Google Pixel 10 Pro is at 42 megapixels. OnePlus 13 is at 32 megapixels.

Live language translation seems good, but Google Pixel 10 Pro has them beat at that too. I will wait to see if it performs better than Google's version.

or you could get a Redmi K80 pro for 400$, with a better display, more RAM, better cameras, 6000 mAh battery, Snapdragon 8 Elite, etc.

And yes, better cameras. With third party camera apps, you can do wonders, and it's mainly dependent on the hardware. (it also has a pretty big sensor for its telephoto)
