how to capture merchant ship?
its there a way to do it?
im aiming specifically to capture a mercahnt fluyt from holland, just for have all the ship in the game

you can capture every nation unique ship exept the fluyt?

In the beta I was able to buy 2 dutch trader fluyts from the ship yard in their capital, however it is random and in my current game in 6 months I did not see a single one for sale.

It's the best merchant ship in the game so not having it (to be able to copy it) is a huge disadvantage in the long run for your economy.

In my current Spanish Campaign, in Feb 1573 (started in 1572), I just saw the French and Netherlands small warship (frigate size) specialty ships for sale for 350k, in their Viceroy Capital Large Ship Yards. When this happens they go away after awhile.

Just keep checking Nassau's Shipyard regularly for ships for sale, and eventually you should see the Traders Fluyt being offered for sale. Make sure you keep a lot cash on hand to buy it (probably at least 350k, maybe more. I have no idea of their price in the release version).

I think you might be able to capture them from treasure fleets, although I've only ever captured Spanish treasure fleets so I don't know if the Dutch have Trader Fluyts in them or not. I also do not recall for certain if I got the merchant ships (who were present in the battle at the back line) or if I only got the warships and the cargo.

i find one in nassau (viceroy city free play) and i buy it, then 2 hours of search and 0 results
i guess its super rare or (hope not) its only one for buy

i have 8 convoy with 3 ship per convoy right now

itl be problematic to upgrade them at this rate


i hope that in the futere the developer at the ability to steal merch ship to AND give them some passives in naval battle

Take control of several towns, build large ship yards and the shipwright guild and you can build around 1 ship per town per month, e.g. have 8 towns = ca 100 new ships per year.

i have already take control of almost all town, for the england in 4 years game time

only holland remain free, becouse for some reason my viceroy dont declare war on them and instead continuasly make war against france that have 0 city 0 trader and 0 convoy

well at least now i have a reason to not overtrow all city
