>>103681was away from home for a bit and forgot about this thread o algo. also yomi won on soy9k if that matters
>>103500very gemmy story and i can definitely agree with you about yomi and the show in general. i think her character is much more complex and nuanced than most people would give it credit for and, like you, i also find her to be the most relatable, but also the most genuine and likeable of the whole cast, even if most people wouldnt see her that way. she will always be a gem in my heart
>I feel bad that the reward for this today, is being related to troon communities and having the characters be completely destroyed and turned into yet another bunch of self insert LGBTP+ iconsit is unfortunate, but like all things in the tranny cultural zeitgeist they will (hopefully) move on from it and to the next shiny thing that they can project their identity on to. it may affect azumanga's legacy somewhat, but the show will outlast all of them when they inevitably hang themselves due to their psychological conflict with reality
>>103502>i would like to recommend K-ON!i know of the show, but have never watched it. ive heard it being associated with rwxittertrannies like azumanga thoughbeit if we were to judge every show's quality by its autistic fanbase then every show would be dogshit. im currently rewatching nichijou but once im done ill add it to my list of anime to watch o algo. im currently debating whether i should follow up with evangelion, mushishi or welcome to the NHK but once ive watched (or attempted to watch) all 3, ill try it then.
>>103678>>103679>>103681>And they're all trash. They're trash precisely because they were made to be the new Azumanga, made as imitations, copying and borrowing from Azumangathough i can tell i havent seen anywhere close to as many anime as you have, i agree. i dont think the success of azumanga can be replicated because, as you said, they both created and perfected the template for the genre as it exists today. i do think nichijou does something distinct with the slice of life formula by introducing a lot more surrealism, comedic exaggeration and a much more significant departure from realism thoughie, even if they still use a lot of tropes from azumanga daioh pertaining to the setting and broader personality types/roles i think it still introduces enough unique elements to differentiate itself.
>and since they're newer they suffer from that general faggyness new anime hasmaybe this is referring more to the thematic merit of newer anime, which i cant really comment on as i dont watch much of it, but i feel like the overall aesthetics of newer anime are just subpar, bland and uninspired despite having a seemingly higher production quality than that of those produced in the 2000s and earlier. a lot of them lack a unique or otherwise individual artstyle that seperates their show from the hordes of other new goyslop churned out by mappa and the like
>Aria (2005) is the sole exception to the aboveive never heard of it before, but upon a google search, i can say that yeah, it doesnt seem like the sort of thing i would usually watch. not to say its bad, just it doesnt seem like my thing.
thank you for the very informative series of replies oldDEITY.
