You've got it. Finally somebody with brain. All support from right European parties to Israel is exactly due to their deeply rooted hatred toward Jews. Zionist movement all together is consequence of European deeply rooted antisemitism. They supported Israel to get ridd of Jews. American Christian Zionist are actually worst antisemites. It does matter more if the air is polluted and the water isn't safe but the government prefers the population to be distracted by someone online making them angry. That way the politicians don't risk upsetting corporate support and undermining future job opportunities.
Is it not Zionists who want Jews in Israel rather than in Europe so there is greater strength in numbers? One way to encourage that migration would be for pro-Israel groups to fund "far-right" individuals whose activities may ultimately create a hostile environment for Jews.

I'm going to try to watch it. I just can't imagine that Applebaum would have said such a thing even if she secretly believed it which I doubt. My bet is she said or was trying to express why the IDF might be motivated to kill journos but has been misconstrued as supporting such actions herself. Well I might have to eat humble pie we'll see.

If you want to read a real historian with literary qualities about Russia read Land of the Firebird, by Suzanne Massie. Anna Applebaum is just cheap propaganda, she got lost in her own labyrinth, is not crystal clear like Suzanne Massie.
