【TOWA TEI / テイ・トウワ】
1990年に DEEE-LITEのメンバーとして、アルバム『World Clique』で全米デビュー。現在、12枚のソロアルバム、3枚の SWEET ROBOTS AGAINST THE MACHINE名義、METAFIVEのアルバム等がある。 2013年9月から現在に到るまで、東京・青山にある INTERSECT BY LEXUS -TOKYOの店内音楽監修。 NHK ドキュメンタリー番組「草間彌生 わが永遠の魂」の音楽を担当。2018年、YMO結成40周年アルバム「ノイエ・タンツ」企画監修デザイン。2019年、細野晴臣氏50周年記念ドキュメンタリー映画『NO SMOKING』及び、2021年には『SAYONARA AMERICA』のキービジュアル、高橋幸宏氏ベストアルバム『GRAND ESPOIR』のアートディレクションを五木田智央氏と共に担当した。 2021年、Netflix制作アニメ『SUPER CROOKS』劇伴を担当し、このアニメ作品のサウンド・トラック盤『SUPER CROOKS (SOUND TRACK FROM THE NETFLIX SERIES)』がリリース。 2021年は10枚目アルバム『LP』海外リリースに続き、『EP』をリリース。 2023年、初の全編インスト・ソロアルバム『ZOUNDTRACKS』、前作LP続編の『TOUCH』を ２枚同時発売した。2024年10月からMUJIの店内音楽監修を務める。 11月に『ZOUNDTRACKS』12inchアナログをリリースした。2025年、3月29日に13枚目アルバム『AH!!』をデジタルリリース、6月6日にはヴァイナルをリリース。4月からBillboard Liveのテーマ楽曲を担当。
10月29日より配信開始されるSTAR WARS VISIONS 3の『The Song of Four Wings（日本語題：四枚羽の詩）』にて作曲を担当。

In 1990, as a member of DEEE-LITE, TOWA TEI made his U.S. debut with the album World Clique. He currently has 13 solo albums, three released under the name SWEET ROBOTS AGAINST THE MACHINE, and has also released work with METAFIVE, among others.
Since September 2013, he has overseen the in-store music direction for INTERSECT BY LEXUS - TOKYO in Aoyama, Tokyo. He also composed the music for the NHK documentary Yayoi Kusama: My Eternal Soul.
In 2018, he supervised, planned, and designed the 40th-anniversary album of YMO, Neue Tanz. In 2019, he co-directed the key visuals for Haruomi Hosono’s 50th-anniversary documentary films NO SMOKING (2019) and SAYONARA AMERICA (2021), and co-art directed Yukihiro Takahashi’s best-of album GRAND ESPOIR together with Tomoo Gokita.
In 2021, he composed the score for the Netflix anime series SUPER CROOKS, which was released as the album SUPER CROOKS (SOUNDTRACK FROM THE NETFLIX SERIES). That same year, following the international release of his 10th album LP, he released EP.
In 2023, he simultaneously released two albums: ZOUNDTRACKS, his first fully instrumental solo album, and TOUCH, the sequel to LP.
Starting in October 2024, he took on the role of in-store music director for MUJI, and in November released the 12-inch vinyl edition of ZOUNDTRACKS.
On March 29, 2025, his 13th album AH!! was released digitally, followed by the vinyl release on June 6. Since April 2025, he has been responsible for the theme music for Billboard Live.
He also composed the music for The Song of Four Wings, a segment of STAR WARS: VISIONS Volume 3, which will begin streaming on October 29.
