Is a Remake of Capcom Pinball’s Big Bang Bar Coming Next Month?

Back in 2023, I wrote an article here talking about how Planetary Pinball had filed a trademark for Capcom Pinball’s rare 1996 game Big Bang Bar.

The second part of that rumor was that an “unexpected company” was going to remake Big Bang Bar. At the time, Pedretti Gaming had not yet produced its first full pinball machine, its 2024 remake of Williams’ FunHouse. So they certainly would quality as being unexpected.

Flash forward to August 2024, the original artist for Big Bang Bar, Stanley Fukuoka, sadly passed away at the age of 69. At the time of his passing, Stanley was actively working with Pedretti Gaming on creating new art for a Big Bang Bar remake. Unfortunately, his passing threw a wrench into that plan.

There’s been lots of evidence that Big Bang Bar is going to be produced of the EPC factory at some point.

Yesterday, Kaneda’s Pinball Podcast stated:

“Pedretti making Big Bang Bar Remake. Game was engineered by Melvin Williams and built off original Williams specs. Coming soon.”

That’s yet another piece of evidence that Big Bang Bar is coming.

I recently heard that we were going to see a “shocking” reveal from Planetary Pinball at the Chicago Pinball Expo in October. Could this be the Big Bang Bar remake? We shall see…

I've played this game hundreds of times and honestly, it's not that great, pretty limited in code and not the best shooter. The only reason it had popularity was due to it's rarity. I'm telling you right now that if you buy this game you WILL be disappointed. Especially after the Europeans are done destroying another great American IP, hey Europe how bout you all come up with your own ideas instead of butchering America's??

Yeah. Lot of people say that the game is only popular because it’s rare. I personally really like the art and the dancer mech is awesome, but the code definitely isn’t deep.
