People on YouTube and Reddit have been left shocked and appalled recently after American YouTuber 'One Giant Onion' uploaded a video two weeks ago titled 'I'm Dying.', explaining that he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer, and is seeking to finance his battle via OnlyFans.
One Giant Onion, otherwise known as 19 y/o Oliver Tren, gained a cult following in 2019 when he started uploading a series of videos featuring himself biting into a raw onion every day until DreamWorks Animation announces Shrek 5. As of August 2025, he has gained over 900k subscribers. However in recent years he has been mostly irrelevant, with occasional critics calling out his trend of clickbait and edgy humor after he gave up his original gimmick.
At first, One Giant Onion received overwhelming support from cancer survivors and those who have lost loved ones to cancer, but his follow-up video would start skepticism. The second video suggested that he had died prematurely and was being uploaded posthumously, claiming that "all of his money would be given away to one random viewer if his channel reached 1M subscribers". However, his third video titled 'I Faked Cancer' exploded outrage, where he admitted to lying about his cancer diagnosis to promote his OnlyFans business and played it off as a harmless joke.
The severe backlash prompted him to remove the cancer videos. Though as of August 19th, all of his channel content has been deleted and he has seemingly vanished from the internet.
