Get Brave Rewards sent directly to your own wallet! Users now can receive BAT payouts to a self-custody Solana wallet address. Brave Rewards lets you earn Basic Attention Tokens in exchange for seeing privacy-respecting ads in the browser. Self-custody payouts gives users more control over their earnings. They no longer need to set up a third-party account to receive $BAT each month. How to set up self-custody Rewards: 1. Click the BAT icon in your address bar. 2. Select "Connect account" 3. Select the self-custody Solana option and follow the instructions. You can use Brave Wallet (desktop and Android) or third-party wallet extensions (desktop only). Please note: - You may need $SOL at your Solana address before connecting to cover transaction fees for a $BAT subaccount if you don’t have one. - Regional restrictions still apply. For example, the feature isn't available where Rewards is unavailable. If you already have a payout account connected and want to switch to the self-custody option, you’ll need to either: A) Reset Brave Rewards, or B) Use a different browser profile Self-custody BAT payouts are a huge step forward for user choice. Update your browser and start earning!

Minnesota’s new Consumer Data Privacy Act gives state residents control over how their data is collected and used. Minnesota businesses must now honor opt-out signals like Global Privacy Control (GPC), which has been available in Brave since 2020. When you use a browser with GPC enabled and visit a website, GPC signals to the site that you don’t want your data sold or shared. GPC is enabled by default in Brave, and is automatically sent to all sites you visit. GPC and privacy laws like Minnesota’s Consumer Data Privacy Act solve an aspect of online privacy that cannot be solved by software alone. Brave is thrilled that MN is joining the dozen US states with similar privacy laws. GPC is one of many privacy features available in Brave. Brave users don’t need to install extensions or adjust settings to get best-in-class protection. You’re shielded from trackers as soon as you start using it.
