Should probably mention again that I'm on here:

And at the same time, I was lacking confidence in the thing I was making, so I wasn't motivated enough to do the work in the end. Maybe I'll try this again with something smaller someday.

I was creating the engine and tools for this from scratch and they were unpleasant to use. Creating your own tools is fun, but actually making the tools pleasant to use for a project is not so fun and takes much much more time.

The idea was to have the characters be controlled automatically by the program much of the time and nudge them manually here and there.

The video project was going to be a 10+ hour video that you'd mostly just leave on its own and periodically check up on. There's no actual video of this, but these are some screenshots (the characters are manually posed here, this isn't part of an actual session or anything).

bsky.app/profile/mryes.bsky.… I haven't been using it but I'll make sure to post anything important there from now on.

This is largely based on an ambitious "fake screensaver" video project that I worked on for years on-and-off but abandoned. I'm trying to break through the paralysis of trying to follow Petscop, by finishing something smaller.

I’m thrilled to be a small part of the first public screening of this hypnotic and moving work. Tomorrow is sold out but there will be another announcement to look out for. Thank you Tony Domenico, David Williams, David Stockdale, and Liz Ryerson @ellaguro

As I learn about and play with more of Blender's features, I start to feel like I could *almost* live in just that one program from now on.

From last year, goofing around in Blender and reducing the palette in Aseprite.
