Mini “Nanny” cams & Spy Camera?

Hey everyone,

I’m an IT systems engineer, so tech is pretty much my bread and butter. I’ve been really impressed with some of the awesome tactics and techniques shared here about using your mobile phone for discreet video recording. Thanks to you all, I’ve managed to snag some pretty decent footage myself!

However, I’m always on the lookout for gadgets that could make discreet recording even easier and less noticeable. I’ve looked into various mini cameras, like spy pens, but it seems their video quality leaves much to be desired.

Recently, I stumbled upon a couple of intriguing options and wanted to see if anyone here has experience with them:

  1. Portable Wireless WiFi Camera (4K UHD)This one seems especially promising, offering 4K quality, and night vision. It seems ideal for getting sharp, clear, and discreet footage.
    Check it out here

  2. Vehicle Key Fob Camera (1080p HD)The key fob style looks super stealthy—perfect for quick, discreet filming—but I’m a bit skeptical about the video quality. If anyone’s tried this one, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Have any of you experimented with these or similar devices? I’m especially curious about real-world experiences regarding video quality, reliability, and overall stealthiness.

Thanks in advance for your insights!

Put “Know your nanny reviews” into Google and you’ll find your answer - doesn’t seem to be trustworthy.

Good point! Outside of the seller though, i still wonder if these type of camera would be a nice tool for capping.

Most of these have crap quality, IMO. The smaller the lens, the less quality you can typically expect from it. Rather the phone for ease of use and access directly after shooting a subject.

Also, I reverse-image searched the first link you provided and the exact same device is selling for under $30, on Aliexpress.

If quality is a big thing for you just stick with a phone. They are the best quality you will get other than actual dedicated cameras and are infinitely more inconspicuous because everyone has them and usually in their hand. Sure these might be even more discreet but with terrible quality you’d wish you just shot it with your phone anyway.

Years ago I bought from that website and like @HassX said it’s not trustworthy and definitely a scam. The quality isn’t there and very cheap products. I personally found over my time doing this that your phone is the best for these shots. The trick is being normal about it and understanding the technique when shopping

Just use your phone and practice sleight of hand in front of a mirror lol learn to be like Tom here.

The key fob is legit. Picture quality is decent to good, for the price. Its worth the cost for sure
