George Abraham, 77, a physicist and research engineer at the Naval Research Laboratory, died Aug. 28 at his summer home at Popham Beach, Maine, after a heart attack.

Dr. Abraham was on the staff of the Naval Research Laboratory for 54 years. He began his career there during World War II as a communications and radar specialist. Later specialties included solid-state physics and multivariate logic. He also had served as chief of the systems application office. He held 20 patents.
