Heard rumours from several sources this week - anyone have any info?

    #2 15 hours ago

That would be news to me. It sounds like a false rumor, though. Where is this being said?

Usually, a company shows significant problems well before reaching the bankruptcy/liquidation stage. We've seen that happen more than a few times now with other companies (skitb, zidware, heighway, deeproot). JJP is not showing any of those subtle early warning signs as far as I'm aware. Instead, they're cranking out games as fast as they are able to right now.

Didn't they just release one of the most massive IP's of all time?

    #4 15 hours ago

Several sources apparently - i heard that legal documentation has been drafted, cannot confirm source or validity...seems strange

    #8 14 hours ago

i dont have any links ....only heard via word of mouth from friends in industry in usa.....been looking at getting harry potter so just trying to get any info. i got burnt on haggis fathom so just trying to be diligent - could be completely false just asking if any info that's all.

Maybe it's a ruse to stop Keith from joining...

    #10 12 hours ago

Wouldnt suprise me, selling 2000 harry potters isnt gonna patch up their past lackluster sales

    #11 12 hours ago

Maybe CGC could buy the rights and start making POTC/WOZ remakes... with spinning bumbers, star map and monkeymechanism!

    #12 12 hours ago

Remember Williams had a hit with Pinball 2000, but still shutdown the Pinball division anyway.
If the Money backers of JJP are tired of keeping it afloat... who knows.. they could pull the plug, hit game or not.

    Hope it's just a Rumor.

Sure CGC could, but we would see those pins released in 10 years, at best.

Rumors Keith is joining JJP, rumors JJP is liquidating?!?!? …with no resources, just someone’s speculation.

    #15 9 hours ago

Doesn’t make a lot of sense.

    #16 9 hours ago

I say bollocks! They just released a rather huge licensed game and They’re posting job openings lately…kinda shoots down the whole liquidation rumor.

    #17 9 hours ago

No... if they were going out of business theyd do so after milking all current IPs for all they are worth, and blowing all their pins out at a discount.

    #18 9 hours ago

Does not seem likely with the money spent on Potter IP and current orders.

    #19 8 hours ago

It's about as real as one @pinlordmarc's threads.

    #20 8 hours ago

Very doubtful since they just landed their biggest hit pinball machine in Harry Potter. They will be manufacturing that pinball for years to come as it's probably the best selling pin since Stern's Godzilla.

And if the rumors are true that are floating around out there about Steve Ritchie doing Sonic the Hedgehog next year and Keith Elwin being uphappy at Stern and possibly leaving for JJP I'd say JJP's future looks the best it's ever been.

If anything Stern might be a company that will soon face some struggles especially is the new Star Wars by Borg turns out to be another ho-hum Star Wars.

The only other company slower that JJP to get a game out

I wish we could get some real sales numbers, only about 250 people on pinside own harry potter, say 10x that tobe fair, 2500ish? Just speculation. Not sure if thad be enough but with a sugar daddy JJP will be fine for years to come, if it was an actual business with financial consequences theyd be fucked

Most likely just a rumor. Even if business was to the point that the owners wanted to move on, with a product that is generating decent sales, it would be a reorg, not a liquidation….most likely a sale in or out of a reorg. But again, highly doubt it’s happening.

    #38 2 hours ago

1 more price hike and i wouldn't be suprised.

    #39 2 hours ago

A little birdie told me that not only are they going into liquidation they are starting an interplanetary rocket division, and are trying to lure Elwin to join Ritchie to startup a new pinball manufacturing plant on Mars.

It's going to be pretty cool!

How does a non-for profit pinball manufacturer that only exists for its wealthy owner’s amusement & nepotism even liquidate ? lol

Why would JJ give up the tax break ?
