Just a taste. That's what last weekend felt like. There was some good racing, sure. But for the most part it was a low key weekend with teams just shaking rust off. Many top teams and individuals chose to sit it out as well, waiting for this weekend to make their season debut. There were some good performances, but for the most part it just felt like it was an appetizer, if that. I think coaches were just more excited to get out there and see what they had in some of their role players more than anything. And there's nothing wrong with that, but it just doesn't get the hype feel of a true fall XC weekend.
