Hey Rochester music fans! Just released our new EP and wanted to share it with the local community first. We’ve been playing around town for a while and finally got these songs recorded properly. If you’ve caught us at The Little or Abilene you might recognize a couple tracks. Really excited about how this one turned out. Would love to get some feedback from fellow musicians and music lovers in the area. Always appreciate the support from our ROC scene.
Hello everyone,
I just moved to ROC and this move reignited my desire to starting a post rock/post metal band (basically heavy and atmospheric). I have been in several bands over the years but nothing really came out of those, thus I'd like to find committed and like-minded band members that are willing to meet regularly and work on songs, with the explicit goal of playing live and recording.
I'd be definitely looking for a drummer and a bass player, ideally a signer as well (although the genre lends itself to instrumental compositions)
Please DM for audio files!
Take care
Rochester hardcore drummer and guitarist looking for vocalist and bassist. Looking to start a hardcore/metal band in the Rochester area (585) if you play bass or do metal vocals dm me on insta @d_cornell26 regardless of skill level.

I've taken a step to offer the Bug Jar Monthly Mix to Tidal users as I am not ready to fully abandon the Spotify crowd. I spent years and years building the follower count on the original playlist. It's meant to promote local shows/bands, so I'm not getting rid of it.

This summer I have been working with two Rochester Institute of Technology students to build a music streaming app just for the Finger Lakes. Right now the app is still in Beta but we are exited to show what we have been working on and want to get in touch with as many local bands as possible. I wanted to post here to tell a little about the project. There are two sites: and . FLXcompass lists cool places to go and things to do. FLXradio let's you listen to local bands that have events coming up in the Finger Lakes. As you listen to a band you can see any upcoming shows they have. Local bands can add original songs and their events. As I said, we are still in Beta but both sites work and the native FLXradio apps for Android and iPhone will be out soon. Would love any feedback. And if you know of any local bands, I would love for you to let them know about the app. It will be forever free for local bands to add songs and post events. Our focus is to help local Finger Lakes bands. You can reach me directly at with any feedback.
If you wanna jam and do some wild experimentation with a solid pop/rock foundation, come to M's in Irondequoit tonight at 7.
My band is The Myth.
Rework old material, covers (sure), and new stuff.
My band just released our first album. We are a 3 piece rock/ indie rock band, and are looking to play some shows in the area. The bass player is moving in October so anything before that would be ideal. Happy to hop on a show if people are looking for acts to fill the bill.

Hey gang, legendary cosmic-blues punk solo artist BOB LOG III is playing at Bug Jar tonight. Still time to catch the show! he plays around 9pm $15

Trying to find people who also listen to groups such as 1c34, slayworld, draingang, rcb, amgboyz etc. Looking for producers or artists in the area who make music related as well. I have yet to find anyone in this city who shares the same music taste so I figured I’d ask here
My name is Ben (21 male) and I am looking to start an indie band here in rochester. I have been playing guitar for 5 years and really like the music scene here in Rochester and would love to become apart of it. Im looking for a percussionist, bassist and preferably lead guitarist. I would love to bring music such as Mac demarco, hers, men i trust and etc into the scene here and would love to find people to play with! I want to consistently play gigs and really try and play out as much as possible. I also have my own music I have been working on and would love to play some original stuff as well. I have hung flyers around the music hot spots in rochester looking for people but ive had a little but of trouble finding people who wont flake out or who are serious about playing! Please reply if you have advise, know anyone, or are interested!

I'm a Roch-based music journalist who gets 100 press releases a day from music publicists. I've done bios and liner notes for high-profile and local/regionally-based acts. I have Rochester clients I've worked with for decades. (testimonials available on request)
I've written for City, the D&C, and 585 as well as Billboard, SPIN, Paste, P4k, Bandcamp, etc. I've also worked in publicity and I make music myself — so I have a feel for what "works" from a PR angle, but I can also empathize with your process and existence as a creative being in a way that non-musicians can't.
I can also edit your video into a trailer for an upcoming release. I'm here for what you need! Feel free to message me...
Working on moving all weekday gigs earlier, hopefully by fall!

Hello everyone, we are Good Weather String Band - we’ve finally released our first single and hope you all like it! We’re playing this Sunday afternoon at Iron Smoke and the following Saturday at Naples Brewing Company. Please come by and say hello and thanks for listening.
Only thing is I don’t have a drum set right now
Any local hardcore bands looking for a vocalist or interested in creating a new group?
Looking for a drummer for my band. Currently we're a bassist, singer, and 2 guitar players. We're in our 20s and 30s. We're want to start with covers so we can start doing open mic nights and possibly gigs, and then eventually make some originals. We mostly play pump/rock/metal stuff from the 90 and 00, but we're open to a lot of stuff.
