+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #2134516 +++

      Description of problem:

Microsoft has announced that Office365 will deprecate basic authentication in favor of OAUTH:

      https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/clients-and-mobile-in-exchange-online/deprecation-of-basic-authentication-exchange-online

This makes it impossible in its current state for users to use Office365 as an email relay, as cyrus-sasl has no method of supporting OAUTH2 authentication mechanism.

There is a third-party plugin that does though but it's not currently packaged in Fedora: https://github.com/moriyoshi/cyrus-sasl-xoauth2

            [RHEL-5260] [RFE] Add cyrus-sasl-xoauth2 as a package

No update from my side. This is no up to the mkosek@redhat.com and rhn-engineering-rcrit to figure out if it fits the IdM product vision so setting needinfo and changing the assignee as I am no longer involved in the cyrus-sasl.

rhn-engineering-rcrit - do you have capacity to own this package in addition to cyrus-sasl? There are quite a lot of customers asking if we can ship this package as part of RHEL (PX Score is > 10000).

The package is now in Fedora rawhide and EPEL9:

            https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/sasl-xoauth2

I am working on getting the new dependency, python-msal built on EPEL8 so this can be brought also to EPEL8:

Taking to myself as the bug #2134516 has the proposed test packages waiting for customer to test.
