Zengguang “Gary” Liu, a naturalized US citizen originally from China, was arrested earlier this week in Oklahoma City and charged with two felonies: human trafficking, a Class A felony, and unauthorized use of another person’s property to facilitate certain crimes, a Class B felony, after a raid on AI Massage, Magic Massage and Diamond Massage parlors — all three are owned by Liu — in Hot Springs on July 28.
Authorities seized about $16,000 in cash in multiple currencies, including American and Chinese.
Criminals based in China have gained a firm business foothold in the US with illicit massage businesses. They recruit vulnerable women from China with promises of making better money in America than they can at home, and once the victims are lured here, they’re trapped and forced to work as prostitutes.
Liu likely owns other such establishments elsewhere in the country.
Liu is described as a “mid-level” operative in a suspected broader human trafficking operation in the US.
