So recently I asked Naoshi Mizuta which tracks he arranged for the PS1 version of the game, which never received an OST release let alone ever got officially disambiguated. These are now confirmed to be his:
- Player Select (composer not confirmed)
- CHUN-LI Stage (composed by Yoko Shimomura)
- CHUN-LI Ending (composed by Yoko Shimomura)
- ADON Ending (composer not confirmed)
- GUY Ending (composer not confirmed)
- KEN Stage (composed by Yoko Shimomura)
- KEN Ending (composer not confirmed)
- BIRDIE Stage (composed by Setsuo Yamamoto)
- DAN Stage (composed by himself)
- Staff Roll 1 & 2 (composed by himself)
I was surprised he didn't list the ending themes for Birdie or Dan, since they're quite funky (and Dan's ending theme is arranged from his stage theme, which he composed). They could be Naoaki Iwami's work, though I'm not too familiar with his style. At some point I'd also like to ask Mizuta about the undisambiguated tracks in the arcade version, though I'd feel bad interrogating him too much about credits lol. I also emailed Akari Kaida asking about her contributions, but she hasn't responded (yet).
It seems Mizuta, Kaida and Iwami must've been transferred to the console department to work on the PS1 version, and stayed there until they left. There is a notable gap in Mizuta's Capcom worklist; he did not work on anything released in 1997 except one bonus arrange for the Vampire Savior OST, and it's not like any of the projects he worked on there were as large as his later Square Enix projects. So I wonder if there's more games he worked on we currently don't know about.
