100% this. The last review of my teaching was by a student (of color) with the most egregious AI cheating I’ve ever seen, they dropped before the system could fail them & left remarks on how I was trying to force “diversity” into my Japanese history class by talking about enslaved Koreans & Yasuke.

This, in a class in California, in which there were no white students.
Spoiler alert: premodern Japan *was* diverse, just not always in the conventional ways people think!
If a student leaves a review like that they should also be told that this "diverse" approach to Japanese history has been around for at least forty years (to say nothing of postwar Japanese cinema): academic.oup.com/jsh/article-...
