They are cannibals.
Bob and Larry’s studio is located in a “Kitchen,” supposedly a human kitchen, based on the size. Normal right? This is where where things get somewhat odd though, we never see the people who the kitchen belong to. It’s not like in ‘Toy Story’ where the veggies only come to life when people aren’t around, and they’re hurrying to make every episode before a human walks into the kitchen and sees them. The produce is never eaten, after what we can only assume is years of them doing this, they never change.
There is an instance in one of the Silly Songs where Bob turns around and the camera pans to follow him and we finally get to see more of the kitchen.
One of the drawings on the fridge is definitely Bob and Larry, but why would Bob and Larry be on someone’s fridge and yet they don’t recognize their own kitchen from the episodes?
There’s also the fact that the veggies use human products: cars, TVs, hair brushes, bath tubs/showers, felt boards, etc. Not to mention the fact that they have bones.
There’s a Silly Song which is preformed by Mr Lunt called “His Cheeseburger,” in which Jerry Gourd is wanting a cheeseburger so bad he sleeps overnight in the drive-thru, just to get an eggs and bacon breakfast the next morning.
The said cheeseburger that Jerry Gourd wanted came with lettuce, which in the world of Veggietales, is still a vegetable. Another song that introduces cannibalism to the viewers is “Pizza Angel” sung by Larry Cucumber, in which he’s waiting all night for his pizza and sings about the /tomato sauce/ being so delicious, mean while his best friend and business partner is a tomato.
There are other instances of this, such as in the episode “King George and His Ducky” where they are using fruit pies as projectile weapons, fruit such as Madam Blueberry.
