Nyanko, (born: February 24, 2009 (2009-02-24) [age 16])^[2][3] also commonly known online known as NyankoBfLol or NyankoBfLmao,^[4] is an English-speaking Thai YouTuber and game developer and publisher, who gained mass media attention and mass-popularity in 2024, known for developing, programming and publishing the Incredibox mod named Sprunki.

Nyanko commonly posts updates and news on mods he creates and broadcasts for Incredibox. Other than that, his content and media is mostly random.

His old content was mostly about vlogs, arts, commentaries and the mobile game The Battle Cats. Then, he switched to Friday Night Funkin' before switching again to his current content.^[5][6][7]

History[]

Nyanko created and established his channel on April 18, 2018 at age 9, and posted and published the first video on April 22, 2021, titled "the battle cat multiversal studios 4 stars cheese (no rich cat)" at age 12.^[8] However, he was a very little known content creator at the time, as his old videos are unpopular and gathered views in the hundreds to low-thousands range, his old username was "nyanko bf God of the battle cat".^[9]

He started using Scratch on late 2021.^[10]

Nyanko developed his first video game called "Buki's Silly SPOOKY Game", also known as ) on Scratch in 2022, a horror game revolves a character named Buki that has to collect to stars to avoid jumpscares.^[11][12] The game was posted to itch.io in 2023.^[13]

On early 2024, Nyanko started creating mods for Incredibox.^[14][15]

In mid-2024 Nyanko started to develop Sprunki, the mod originally had the working title called "Sprunkle" before it was changed to "Sprunki" and the concepts of characters and designs were drawn.^[16]

On mid-to-late 2024, Nyanko gained huge surge of subscribers due to him releasing his famous mod on that day.^[17][18]

Sprunki[]

"Sprunki" is a mod for the rhythm game Incredibox, released on August 26, 2024. It was first released on Scratch, later it was removed,^[32] before being published and ported to Cocrea, Incredimake and itch.io on September 16, 2024 and on third and fourth updates. It revolves around a series of characters, albeit modified to assume the appearance of jovial and child friendly looking characters, but would later become more uncanny.

Gameplay[]

The gameplay when you drag one of the 20 character icons on the bottom of the screen onto one of the 7 Empty Polos, if you click the mute button, the character's sound will be paused, and the character will be also removed if you click it or the remove button.

You could also click the night mode button, and type in the color and brightness code. If you click the settings button, you could turn on dark mode and change colors, you could see the gallery if you click the gallery button. However, once you drag the Black icon, the game will go into horror mode, with all the characters being either injured, dead, insane, or traumatized.

There is also a reset button on the top right corner of the screen that resets/removes the characters, and you could also see the bonus characters when you type "imsosprunki".

The Cancelled Update version was officially posted on Cocrea by Nyanko on November 16, 2024, and has gained more than 1.2 million views as of March 2025.^[33]

Development[]

Sprunki was first uploaded to the website Scratch. on August 26th 2024. Sprunki was taken down due to reports from the cartoon gore shown in the mod on September 6th 2024.

Sprunki was officially reposted onto Scratch on September 10th 2024. The reposted version was taken down around September 2024. Sprunki was then officially reposted on Cocrea on September 19th 2024. Sprunki would be privated on Cocrea by Nyanko on October 17th 2024 and then officially reposted on Incredimake, a site specifically for Incredibox mods.^[34]

Sprunki would be removed from Incredimake on November 15th, 2024. Sprunki's cancelled update was posted on Cocrea on November 16th, 2024. Sprunki's cancelled update was Unlisted from Cocrea in January 2025. The mod is still playable via link, but is no longer viewable to the public.

Nyanko has confirmed he is remastering Sprunki in a post on YouTube, however the release date was not stated.

The official NyankoBfLol YouTube channel has posted several videos and mods relating to Sprunki, including an Incredibox mash up mod, Steel Factory x Mars x Sprunki.^[35]

Popularity[]

In mid-2024, Sprunki became an internet meme and over a million people played the mod, a few months after it's release. Shortly afterwards, Sprunki was unofficially posted to game platforms including Google Play, App Store, Microsoft Store, Cocrea, Scratch and itch.io.^[36][37][38] As of 2025, the campaign had surpassed its 300M views, favorites, remixes and players goal. To thank the contributors, Nyanko approved some of Sprunki memes and parodies on On YouTube on October 2024.^{[39][citation needed]}

The mod gained popularity in mid-2024, when the first Sprunki mix video was uploaded by BaggerHead posted a first Sprunki mix video "Fun Time!",^[40] the video gained more than 5 million views. Many started to make fan art, original characters/OCs memes, fan animations, remixes and mods about Sprunki.^{[41][42][43][44][45][46][47]}

Controversies and End of Support for Sprunki[]

In November of 2024, Nyanko had announced that he is no longer developing the Sprunki mod, due to the mod being a harm towards his mental health among other factors. He had specifically mentioned that Sprunki is cancelled and criticized due to him getting hacked and doxxed on Discord and Scratch,^{[48][49][50][51][52]} the mod being more popular than Incredibox itself and the content farms, brainrot, clickbait content, AI slop, low culture and milkers came into and videos related to Sprunki,^[53][54] YouTubers such as LankyBox, Slime Cat, Jester, BENJIxScarlett, TheeOnlyJanessa (Janessa Collins), Ulpu (MindUpload or CelebritiesOverTheYears), Dj GG (Bohdan Klobutskyi), Limdan Meme (Lim), heelani (Kwame Frimpong), Phonkiy (Phedra), Nemua, Nebula2376, no meme, PlayGamesWalkthrough, etc. And also he found some bootleg Sprunki apps.^{[4][55][56][57][58][59][60][61][62][63][64][65][66][67][68][69][70][71][72][73][74][75]}

As a final update to Sprunki, he released the fifth update “Cancelled update” on November 16, 2024.^[76] Nyanko also has unlisted some Sprunki videos and privated Sprunki on Cocrea and it was taken down from Incredimake.

Trivia[]

• The Hair and Cap of the Character in his profile picture is of Boyfriend from Friday Night Funkin.
• His account once got hacked, and he subsequently got doxxed. Additionally, Nyanko was hacked and doxed, resulting his face and real name being leaked on his Discord and Scratch accounts.
• He dislikes and expressed disapproval of Sprunki ever since it's rise in popularity and even not wanting to see the mod get mentioned.^[4][77][78]
  • Mainly because the mod became much more popular than Incredibox, and therefore to its exploitation by content farms, brainrot, clickbait content, low culture, AI slop and milkers, many kids assume Sprunki came before Incredibox, which disrespected the community.
  • Nyanko also made the hashtag "#sprunkiisdead", since Sprunki was cancelled.

• He also saw the Sprunki drawing meme videos by Limdan Meme (Lim), and also didn't like them.
• He also saw the Sprunki deviants by heelani (Kwame Frimpong), Phonkiy (Phedra), Nemua and Nebula2376, (the DeviantArt people that milked Sprunki and made explicit/suggestive/NSFW and offensive/disrespectful content about Sprunki and they also comment mostly about punching in their Sprunki deviants; likely confirmed to be Iranian-Azerbaijani-Afghan-Pakistani-Maldivian-Burmese-Mongolian-Ukrainian-Cornish-Manx-Jersey), and also didn't like them.
• He frequently posts on his community tab.^[82]
• Nyanko has made other mods as well, such as Static, Cartoonish, Polobox, and 2 mashup mods.^[83]
• His Scratch account was falsely permanently banned for impersonation.^[84][85][86] He made another account but eventually deleted it.^[87][88]

• Nyanko had plans to make a remastered version and sixth update of Sprunki since February 2025, this update revolves some characters getting replaced and new designs, but due to the fact that the building where Nyanko was filmed burned down, later he decided to cancel it because of doxxers and content farms, with Sprunki Remastered also delayed, and this version being the very last.^{[89][90][91][92][93]}
