The Rohatyn Group

The Rohatyn Group, formerly known as the TRG Management, L.P. (“TRG”), was founded by Nicolas Rohatyn in 2002. The firm manages an active fund of hedge funds operation which was previously under the umbrella of Lazard Asset Management before moving in Q4 2019. As part of the Acquisition, TRG replaced a Lazard affiliated entity as the investment manager to the fund. Additionally, as part of the acquisition, TRG Allocation LLC replaced a Lazard affiliated entity as the general partner of the fund. Prior to the acquisition, TRG did not sponsor, manage or advise the fund in any way. Any of the fund’s track record and performance results prior to the acquisition were generated during the period when the investment team was affiliated with Lazard. As of January 2022, presented AUM figures herein includes assets managed by affiliates, Capital Advisors Partners Asia SDN BHD, a 60%-owned subsidiary of TRG Management and Balam Administradora S. DE R.L. DE C.V., in which TRG holds a 60% voting stake. The locations are where TRG has a local presence by means of an office, employment, and/or consultancy arrangement. After building J.P. Morgan’s emerging markets business, Mr. Rohatyn and the firm’s other founding partners recognized the need for an institutional scale, global cross asset class investment manager dedicated to emerging markets. The firm has presence in 14 cities globally, as well as an advisory affiliate located in one additional city. It has pursued this expansion of investment capabilities through a combination of organic growth and several strategic acquisitions.
