Bears Like Blink 4 - Mount high.
There is one definite thing to keep in mind with Blink 4 compared to Blink 3. Bears wouldn't touch the Blink 3 but will chew on the Blink 4. I have two Blink 4s now that have sustained tooth marks as you'll see in the picture and Video. Enjoy. I can't complain though. I am pulling in just under 100 videos a day of bear as well as a very cute mother and three cubs.

    I’ve had blink cameras for years. I did have the older models and just upgraded to these. They are SUPER easy to install and do its job. Would highly recommend to anyone. I have 5 cameras and the door bell camera and just ordered 1 for the interior that swivels 360 degrees. Picture is clear, catches everything that is needed and we feel safe!

    Okay, 2yrs battery life is a flat out lie. 6months is a more reasonable expectation for typical active use. That being said. This product is SO easy to use and effective. Highly recommended. Just stock up on batteries if the wireless feature is a must.

    The Blink system is very flaky. Bought the XR Sync module hoping to place a camera on my garage. The camera is well within the stipulated range for the XR module, but it does not work most of the time. Another problem is the battery life. They are supposed to work for 2 years, but hardly last a few months. They is not reason why most features are locked and not available without a subscription. I am very disappointed with this purchase. Not worth the money for all the cameras and the door bell.

    Update january 02 2024, if you own an iphone with ios 17, don`t buy these cameras, Apple doesn`t care since ios 17 update that notifications on Blink are almost inaudible!!!!

    The images are excellent, the motion detection is perfect, and the batteries last a long time despite the cold Quebec weather.

    The only negative point is that since the ios 17 update, the "Blink monitor home" application no longer works very well, i.e. with the Apple update ( IOS 17 ) the notifications/alerts on the application are very difficult to hear, so if your iphone isn`t up to date, wait for Apple to fix the problem.

    Mise à jour 02 janvier 2024, si vous possèdez un iphone avec ios 17, n`achetez pas ces caméras, Apple se fout depuis la mise à jour de ios 17 que les notifications sur Blink sont presqu`inaudible!!!

    Les images sont excellentes, les détections de mouvements sont parfaites, les batteries ont une bonne durée de vie malgré le froid du Québec.

    Prior to buying a set of Blink cameras (video doorbell, the Mini and Outdoor 4s) in January 2025, I already had a Ring doorbell camera for just over 5 years. I can safely say that the Blink hardware and system is very inferior to Ring. The reason why switched to Blink was to try something new/different and because the hardware was more affordable (bought on sale). I don’t want to write about what makes Blink good, as this has been done by the company already with their advertising. Let’s talk about their deficiencies that i experienced… the snap-on method to attach the wireless cameras to the mounts is very poor and cheap, instead of a mechanical solution like a single short Allen screw or something. As such, one of the cameras is slightly loose when snapped into place using the little extender that’s snapped to the mount. The Outdoor 4 should have been designed and sold with a short hood overtop it to protect the lense - specifically the ensuing image and recording quality - from rain or snow. The Motion Zone uses a grid to select areas that you do/do not want motion alerts to trigger but it can’t be fine tuned using straight lines compared to Ring. Also, objects/movement that are WELL OUTSIDE the set zones repeatedly trigger unwanted motion alerts which is extremely annoying, especially considering when Person Detection (whatever it’s called) is selected. One of the Outdoor 4 units (one of five cameras set up at my home) had its batteries drained in LESS THAN A MONTH’S TIME when they supposedly last to a max of two years - not a chance. I called Blink tech support (located in a Third World country overseas whose first language isn’t English) and they advised that the problem appeared to be with the 2.4 GHz bandwidth of my router/wireless modem and to call my internet provider to troubleshoot/investigate. This doesn’t seem to make sense, as all the wireless cameras in my system should have exhibited this same issue. I’m currently in the process of escalating with Blink tech support.
    You get what you pay for. In the end, it’s a cheaper system and product but still pretty good.
