Google's conflict of interest probably lead to MicroSD restrictions in Android. Google's conflict of interest probably lead to MicroSD restrictions in Android.

In 2014, Android 4.4 KitKat was released. With that, one of the largest selling points of Android, the MicroSD card, was heavily restricted. Apps could no longer normally write to it, except in their specific directories.

Their reasoning from the Android documentation is:

Apps must not be allowed to write to secondary external storage devices [MicroSD and USB-OTG], except in their package-specific directories as allowed by synthesized permissions. Restricting writes in this way ensures the system can clean up files when applications are uninstalled.

Honestly, I would rather have some junk files than not being able to use the MicroSD card and USB OTG properly. Also, if they wanted apps to leave no "junk files" anywhere, they could just as well have applied the same restrictions to internal storage, but for some reason they didn't.

Besides, there are legitimate reasons for apps to leave files behind after uninstallation. If you use a third-party camera like Camera MX, you wouldn't want your pictures to be deleted if you uninstall it.

As a cloud storage provider, Google has a conflict of interest. They would rather have you give your money to them, not SanDisk. So this was probably an anti-competitive move.

How accurate published science is? How accurate published science is?

Being a whistleblower of science fraud, of the intentional exclusion of the lower social classes and of women from the power seats in science, and of the retaliation and persecution that those who choose their ethics and to stand for honest science face, I don't blindly trust science. Before supporting a discovery or a paradigm, I deeply and thoroughly analyze it and, when possible, I first experience it myself or evaluate others' real life experiences, to evaluate whether it is an accurate description of how reality works.

But perhaps I'm just overcautious right? So, from a scientific standpoint, how accurate is the science published out there? Well, I asked ChatGPT, and here are the results. Enjoy.

Admin /u/Redtaboo admits to seeing a ChapoTrapHouse user's repeated violent comments, refuses to act on them, and removes all subsequent evidence and requests for clarification.

A Redditor who frequents ChapoTrapHouse has been discovered to have some sort of suspension-immunity, despite proof delivered to Reddit admins that the user has a lengthy history of violent comments, both in ChapoTrapHouse and around Reddit.

One of the most blatant examples was the comment, "vote for Bernie or go die in a fire," which was published on Reddit over a month ago.

The admin Redtaboo was questioned about this and provided with numerous examples here: http://archive.is/t71kU

The text of the inquiry is as follows:

It seems that reports of ChapoTrapHouse users promoting violence get lost in the void, as well.

Here is a comment from one particular user who repeatedly makes violent rule-breaking comments and wishes death on people: https://archive.is/nY688 This user has been reported to you many times for violent comments. Here they are a month ago saying "vote for Bernie or die in a fire." https://archive.is/BeZdN - This was reported to you, and you said "thanks for reporting bla bla bla" and then you did literally nothing. This user is still active on Reddit. One can see they make violent comments wishing death on people almost every day, often in ChapoTrapHouse. You are receiving the reports and choosing to allow them to continue.

Here they are talking about "shoving white people into the ocean if necessary" https://archive.is/ndpJH They are still active on Reddit to this day.

Here they are threatening arson if Bernie doesn't win again https://archive.is/2bWe6 And yet you won't suspend this person for repeatedly making violent comments, even after months of reports. Why is that? Is violence OK for left-wing Bernie suporters on this website? It seems to be. Here they are advocating for throwing Democrats into camps: https://archive.is/JyvQf - Would this comment be permitted if it was on the_Donald instead of far-left ChapoTrapHouse?

Here they are implying that they want to kill Democrats: https://archive.is/jjJib Obviously this one is in a grey-area, because they say "why kill myself when there are so many Democrats still alive," but the implication here to any normal person is that they want to kill democrats. This is a person who Reddit admin have reviewed reports against them, and have decided they have not violated Reddit's policy. These are objectively violent comments, and there is a pattern of cavalier disregard for any civility or site-wide rules. Why is this OK on Reddit? You have literally received reports on many of this user's comments and acknowledged that you received them, and this user is still active today, with no intention of changing their behavior.

Here they are, talking about shooting cops: https://archive.is/FEPoJ Keep in mind, this is a user you have explicitly declined to take action against. Here they are suggesting that we launch trump supporters "into the fucking sun": https://archive.is/wpl57

Here they are saying we should put "capitalists" in concentration camps: https://old.reddit.com/r/ChapoTrapHouse/comments/f941cs/when_sanders_becomes_president_we_should_close/fiqks2m/ The mods removed it, but you admins can see it. Funny how the mods didn't ban this user, either. Shouldn't you hold mods accountable for repeat-offenders that they don't ban?

Here they are advocating for killing people with guillotines: https://archive.is/oDKGb

These are all examples of comments this person has made after Reddit admins decided that this person was not breaking Reddit's rules. They were talking about killing non-Bernie voters in a fire a whole month ago, and my examples are just from the last 2 weeks.

I'd love an explanation as to why you've let this person continue to be so extremely violent almost every day, despite many reports. Can you comment on this?

Redtaboo's response was archived here: http://archive.is/2A158

As you can see, this admin acknowledges specifically that they have seen the rule-breaking comments. The user asking about the inconsistent policy-enforcement (or lack thereof) goes on to ask why their questions were not addressed, and why the user had still not been banned even after a Reddit administrator had admitted to seeing several examples. At this point, the admin Redtaboo becomes silent and refuses to discuss anything further.

You can see the admin begins to remove all further comments here without any acknowledgment or reply: https://www.removeddit.com/r/ModSupport/comments/fh1s0m/yelling_into_the_void_aka_a_modmail_bug_that_may/fk8ig9z/

A follow-up question from the same user is quoted as follows:

You're telling me this comment - https://old.reddit.com/r/TopMindsOfReddit/comments/evzetu/top_mind_on_the_dumpster_unironically_posts_this/ffzdext/ - wasn't reported to admins? This was over a month ago and the user is still making comments today. Why wasn't this user's account permanently suspended? Reddit users deserve to know why these same ChapoTrapHouse types frequently seem to be un-suspendable when their comment history is full of violent rhetoric. Please address this with me.

The comment was, of course, immediately removed and ignored by an administrator, despite raising very legitimate concerns about why admins are turning a blind-eye to certain individual users even after seeing their violent and hateful comments.

It is clear that Reddit admins such as Redtaboo are absolutely unwilling to enforce their "rules" evenly or consistently, and it becomes suspicious when the individuals they refuse to suspend or intervene with always seem to fit a particular political profile, such as this case here.

Navigating from the archived examples by clicking the rule-breaking Redditor's username, one can see that the user has stil not been suspended for any length of time, and is still commenting around the site unrestricted in any way. Many of the violent comments shown in these archived links have still not even been taken down.

A compilation of screenshots of the offender's comments can be seen here for quicker reference: https://i.imgur.com/u4MAVdi.jpg

It is conclusive that Reddit admins use an arbitrary, subjective approach to enforcing the website's "rules," and that all their attempts to appear neutral and comitted to creating a website that promotes kindness and civility are simply a facade that serves to obscure their actual motives and biases when pushing the views they want to be seen on their website instead of a diverse, organic global conversation between genuine people.

Reddit's admins have a political agenda, and they are responsible for all commentary published on this website. There is no longer any reason to think they will allow dissenting opinions, comments, images or communities to thrive on their website even if their constantly-changing rules and demands are met. Those who deviate from their desired narrative will be removed under contrived, dishonest premises and those who promote the views they wish to be seen will be given nearly endless leniency to break their rules of conduct.

Reddit.com is a website that exists purely to sell advertisement views and host paid-for political propaganda from its investors.

Thanks for reading.

Considering the strong far-left bias that they demonstrated in 2016, we need better transparency and check and balances on their ability to meddle with our democracy.

"Joe Biden" search suggestion anomalies "Joe Biden" search suggestion anomalies

I was looking for an old video in which Joe Biden advises people to "buy a shotgun" in lieu of an AR-15 and gives questionable home defense advice.

I noticed that there were no search suggestions on Google or YouTube that could possibly reference this, in contrast to Bing, DuckDuckGo, Yahoo, and Ecosia. Search suggestions on the latter sites included, among others:

  • joe biden shotgun

  • joe biden ar-15

  • joe biden fire shotgun through the door

  • joe biden buy a shotgun

Also, typing "joe biden sh" yielded "joe biden shoulder rub" as a suggested search on all named sites except Google and YouTube.

I have some doubt that the exclusion of these search suggestions on Google and YouTube wouldn't be a conscious decision. I also note that this might prevent some Google users from seeing certain content which may (depending on one's perspective) cause Biden to look somewhat unfavorable.

I suspect My Twitter account was restricted for discussing the negatives about EU membership I suspect My Twitter account was restricted for discussing the negatives about EU membership

I frequent twitter from time to time, make some tweets and engage in topics in variable frequencies. ealrier today I came across a string of tweets discussing UK's Brexit ( Alt. PrntScreen link) which had my interest. I'm Norwegian and we have been opposed to EU Membership for a long time (just so everyone are aware of my viewpoint) i'd also like to point out that the details regarding EU membership is very important for Norway (See notes about 4th & 5th tweet)

The 5 Removed tweets in that string are mine.

In the 1st tweet I discussed how UK's reasons for leaving EU, isnt nationalism but perceived nationalism, because they concluded a continued membership is detrimental to themselves (I had yet to realize the User was being sarcastic about UK not being Nationalist)

The Next Four Tweets were part of a multi-tweet chain.

In the 2nd and 3rd Tweets, I discuss how It's detrimental. f.ex being an EU member, involves surrendering border control to the union, which means forced immigration. you also surrender your natural resources so that the union can move them around freely and disposition them wherever they want.

In the 4th Tweet, I mention that those are the reasons a nation like Norway have been avoiding EU membership.(for those unaware, Norway would lose their fishing, lumber, oil and oil fund if they joined the union)

Then as a 5th tweet, I quickly wrote a note about my Sources for this information being people i know from UK, and myself being a Norwegian as this particular piece of history is very important in Norway's history and that we take passing it between generations very seriously.then at the very end, I promptly told the other guy he could live in his bubble and keep bluepilling himself.

Following that 5th tweet, it was only a matter of minutes, (it felt like less than a minute) before I found my account suddenly restricted, and I have since then been unable to recover the account despite having the option to recover it be presented to me (I.e using a phone number but not having the Text message be received)

Something I strongly believe is important to note here is that I've certainly written things that I myself would call objectively worse than this without repercussions(you can still look at my twitter because it is merely restricted). BUT, the moment I wrote tweets about this specific topic, i was instantly targeted and had my account labelled as "acting suspiciously"

Adobe sends legal threat to game dev who won't upgrade the software he's paying a subscription fee for Adobe sends legal threat to game dev who won't upgrade the software he's paying a subscription fee for

So Matt Roszak, aka KupoGames, creator of the Epic Battle Fantasy series of indy RPGs, got a nasty-gram in his email from Adobe:

https://twitter.com/KupoGames/status/1126905276693667841

https://archive.fo/quprw

For those who can't read it, Adobe tells him:

  • They have detected he hasn't updated Flash CC 2015 (now known as Adobe Animate 15.0 / 15.2 / 16.5) to the latest versions (which suck, and won't compile his existing projects)

  • They note that he is paying for an Adobe CC subscription as normal, he is not pirating the software, and thus is beholden to the license...

  • However, they have decided he MUST upgrade and cannot choose to use the version with the feature he needs and lower system requirements -- an arbitrary decision the license says he must obey.

  • They remind him that if he continues to use the existing version he "may be at risk of potential claims of infringement by third parties."

    • This may be due to Adobe subcontracting out anti-piracy measures, or how in the EU lawyers can file copyright infringement lawsuits on behalf of third parties.

As he points out in the comments, he's basically paying Adobe for the right to pirate the software from them.

Remember everyone, Software as a Service is Fraud.
