When a nation loses access to its courts, when peaceful resolution is stripped away and replaced with political theater, when there are no remaining remedies to hold power accountable, history tells us violence becomes the only remaining retort. This is the path to civil war. Our Bill of Rights, our Declaration of Independence, and the Federalist Papers are clear. The American people have the right, and the duty, to confront a tyrannical despot who seizes power by force.
