Yep. OP's reaction indicates he didn't watch the real thing. The way OP felt utterly repulsed and disgusted is exactly the same way I feel whenever an Azu video on YouTube with the English audio track accidentally plays. Can't stomach it. It's far beyond just cringe, it's absolutely repulsive.

Of course nearly all dubs are bad and worsen the anime in question as they nearly always sound bad and also rewrite the dialogue and censor it sometimes like in the case of Angel Cop, but the dub of Azumanga takes the throne as king of all horrible dubs: it's an abomination and total insult to Azumanga and turns a super comfy show into a hyper-obnoxious cringefest.
