I grew up in Nagasaki. My grandfather’s family home was about 100 meters from the hypocenter, and all his younger siblings died, except for him, as he was away at war. When he returned, everything was a wasteland, and he, one of seven siblings, lost his entire family. My father treats people suffering from the aftereffects of the atomic bomb. Please, if you come to Japan, visit the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum and look for a family named Komine among those who perished.
