Sorry for my absence. As the news has come out I am ready to my tell my side of the story.
I was put on leave from TSMC over a month ago pending an investigation of leaked classified material and sadly this morning I was notified by my lawyer of charges pending against me in Taiwan.
I am deeply saddened that the Taiwanese authorities have decided to do this despite my willingness to cooperate with their investigation. I maintain I am innocent and never willingly or knowingly leaked any advanced process node intellectual property to anyone!
As I fear that I will be targeted and not given a fair trial in Taiwan I have made the decision to travel back to Korea! I have nothing to hide and am more than willing to let the facts speak for themselves and I am ready to be come back to Taiwan if my right to due process and freedom of movement is honored !
I am so sorry to all my followers for this embarrassment and I am deeply ashamed and regretful that any accusations of betrayal would ever be leveled against me. It breaks my heart that some would paint me out as someone who would sell the blood, the sweat, and tears of thousands of engineers for personal gain.
The truth will come out and absolve me, this I am sure. I hope to return again.. one day but until then #FreeDrKim
