I was wondering is there any master list from which brave knows what scripts to block in a page? Please can someone direct me to the question if this is looks like a duplicate as well.

It uses what u-block origin uses. Mainly UBO filters, Easylist, Easyprivacy. You can also check brave://adblock/ to add extra list if you want.
