First up, a cool event it happening this weekend in Long Island, New York. Yes, I know that Long Island is a real pain in the rear to get to for anyone who doesn't live there, but the upcoming Long Island Retro Gaming Expo looks really cool. First of all, it's being held in a neat museum called the Cradle of Aviation. For the event, the organizers set up classic arcade games and pinball machines in an actual hangar, surrounded by airplanes. Beyond that, there's tons of exhibits like "the 40th Anniversary NES Exhibit," consoles, retro games and more, tournaments, cosplay, presentations and all sorts of cool stuff. I'm actually thinking about going for my birthday this weekend. I'm either doing that or hitting some other arcade with my family.

My first stop on our Road Trip this weekend was to an arcade from the folks who run, Brooklyn's iconic Sunshine Laundromat speakeasy-esque arcade. They opened a new pinball bar a couple of months ago several blocks down the street. Called Scrappleland (after the owner's dog, I asked lol), the new venue currently features 41 pinball machines, many of which are super rare Limited Editions (list below). In addition to the pins, there's a great selection of beers on tap and a really neat rooftop bar.
Below is a short walkthrough video that I did of Scrappleland yesterday.

On Friday, Spooky pinball released a new Beta code for Evil Dead. Below are all of the details. Speaking of Evil Dead, 3 of the 4 public arcades that I went to had Evil Dead on location. I can't remember the last time that I saw a Spooky game everywhere like that It's great to see.
New Evil Dead Code! v2025.07.30 (Public Beta)
Two brand-new modes just dropped — and they’re packed with blood, guts, and groovy chaos:
Destroy the Book – It’s the final battle from the original film! Ash must fend off the Scott and Cheryl and destroy the Necronomicon once and for all...(Okay, okay… until the next movie, anyway.)
Kitchen Fight – Think you’ve got what it takes to take on a possessed hand? In this mode, Ash is down to one good arm — and so are you. Play using ONE HAND ONLY as the severed hand scurries across the kitchen in a fast-paced, flipper-flailing frenzy.
32 new videos, multiball tweaks, spinner love, and more polish than a Kandarian Dagger.
Barrels of Fun also released new code for its latest pinball machine, Dune on Friday. Particularly notable in this update is that they added callouts from two new professional voice actors to the game. In addition to that, the update includes a new Mini-Wizard Mode called "Battle for Arrakeen."
If you want to see what the code is like, stop by IE Pinball on Twitch, where Karl DeAngelo streamed it on Friday to watch the replay:
