4th Year BA/BCom UoA Student | Project Director + Director of What's on Weekly UoA | Wellbeing & Equity Student Ambassador at UoA

This year I am also working as the Project Director & Show Director for What's On Weekly! This role gives me the incredible opportunity to lead, create, and shape the University of Auckland’s student video news series. As both Project Director and Show Director, I oversee every aspect of the production pipeline, from content planning to final delivery, ensuring each episode meets editorial and production standards. Project Director As the Project Director, I’m responsible for the overall management, vision, and execution of What's On Weekly. This means: - Leading the team: Managing a rotating crew of writers, presenters, and production staff, ensuring smooth collaboration and high-quality content. - Stakeholder collaboration: Coordinating with UoA’s Marketing & Communications Team to align content with university initiatives. - Project logistics: Overseeing scheduling, timesheets, and equipment to ensure timely production. - Crisis management: Handling last-minute changes, technical issues, and unforeseen challenges during production. Show Director As Show Director, I take on a more hands-on creative role, overseeing how each episode looks, feels, and flows. This involves: - Directing episode shoots: Managing camera angles, lighting, and location coordination to ensure professional and engaging visuals. - Presenter coaching: Guiding on-screen talent to deliver clear, engaging, and natural performances. - Crew coaching: Guiding crew members on how to use equipment, best practices, and how to get the best shot! - Post-production editing: Ensuring high-quality video editing, including cutting, color correction, subtitling, transitions, and branding. - Content Evolution: Conceptualizing and executing new initiatives to include in the series to increase engagement, such as having guest stars from student leadership positions! I'm incredibly excited for the year ahead with this role; it's a dream project to work on while continuing my education journey at The University of Auckland.
