Japan has a very long cultural history of cross-dressing in entertainment, ranging from the onnagata of kabuki theatre, Visual-Kei in the music industry, to crossplay in the anime cosplay community. its a very different thing culturally to the west. You're viewing it through the bias of a western lens. The vast majority of the time it's not sexual or fetishistic. its purely the entertainment or hobby aspect.

I don't like these aspects of japanese culture and these things aren't present in every single anime. I enjoy the majority of anime because it does not have these things. I am upset about dress up darling season 2 because the entire focus or plot point is this stuff and I heavily dislike and disagree with it I don't think I have to like every single aspect of a culture to still enjoy the culture as a whole, and naturally as a Christian there's going to be a lot of things I disagree with when consuming media from other cultures
