Production of Evil Dead is humming along. According to estimates that they said were "pretty close" Spooky has produced around 425 Evil Dead units through the end of July. They are up to a production rate of around 100 machines per month. At the current pace, Spooky will be very close to being done with all 888 Evil Dead units by the end of December. They plan to leave two weeks of Evil Dead production for employees to work on in January to keep the line moving as they train everyone on how to build their next game.
Spooky said that they will reveal their next game in late November or early December. The schedule will be very similar to the Evil Dead launch. The next Spooky game is heavily rumored to be based upon the original 1988 Tim Burton film Beetlejuice. The topper for the next game is being produced again by Gary J. Tunnicliffe, the creator of the amazing official Cheryl topper for Evil Dead. Word is that the Beetlejuice topper is even better than the Evil Dead one.
Distributors already have lists of interested customers who have locked in spots for the next Spooky game. It is seeming likely that it will sell out, much like Evil Dead did.
In other Spooky news, they announced yesterday that they are looking to hire another full-time programmer, with special incentives for those who are willing to relocate to the Spooky HQ in Benton, Wisconsin.
