The trade deficit hit a record $1.2 trillion last year and is still rising, so Trump’s tariffs aren’t fixing anything. They’ve driven up costs for American businesses and families while doing nothing to bring back manufacturing. Jobs have been lost, not gained, and prices have gone up across the board. Courts have already ruled parts of these tariffs illegal, exposing them as executive overreach. Calling it national security doesn’t make it true when the results are failure, inflation, and lawsuits.
