Almost three years of post-Covid, a high-level Chinese business delegation from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) visited Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCCI) office on 11 March 2023 led by Mr. Zhang Shaogang¸ Vice Chairman, CCPIT. Mr. Song Yang, Economic and Commercial Counsellor of China Embassy in Bangladesh were present at this time. The Chinese trade delegation was received by Mr. Gazi Golam Murtoza, President of BCCCI and Mr. Al Mamun Mridha, the Secretary General and other leaders of BCCCI.
The Chinese delegation underscored greater bilateral cooperation and initiatives to explore more opportunities of bilateral trade and investment and to further deepen the economic and trade relations between two nations. A MoU was signed for establishing friendly and cooperative relations, support trade and investment promotion activities. In order to encourage and facilitate the business communities of both the countries in tune with the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) BCCCI and CCPIT will explore new thrust areas by strengthening cooperation in infrastructural connectivity, renewable energy, Seafood, fresh water fish, agricultural sector alongside investment and financing. Emphasis would also be given to strengthen collaboration and exchanges in commercial, legal service, establishment of Chinese banks, electric vehicle and assist business communities to better understand the national trade and investment environment, laws and regulations applicable, resolve business, disputes, manage risks and properly address economic and trade frictions through mediation, arbitration, and industry dialogues.
