BCCCI and BEPZA will act in close cooperation to enhance investment from China

Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCCI) and Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Today (02-04-2023) at BEPZA Complex, Dhaka, with an aim to further enhance mutual cooperation for attracting more Chinese investment in the EPZs of Bangladesh.
BCCCI and BEPZA will act in close cooperation to enhance investment from China through holding joint consultation meetings, investment dialogues, trade and investment-related conferences, seminars, roundtable meetings and exhibitions at home and abroad.
BEPZA Member (Investment Promotion) Ali Reza Mazid and Mr. Al Mamun Mridha, the Secretary General of BCCCI signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.
Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman the Executive Chairman of BEPZA underscored more active promotion and persuasion for investment in Bangladesh as he reiterated the investment-friendly legal and financial advantages prevailing in the country. He urged upon drawing investment prospects in some rapidly growing sectors like producing pharmaceutical raw materials, medical equipment and appliances, focusing on its tannery industry for large-scale manufacturing of leather goods in Bangladesh
The BCCCI Secretary General Al Mamun Mridha attached due importance to joint programs of action by BCCCI and BEPZA in focusing MADE IN BANGLADESH branding in potential export hubs of China. He said BCCCI keeps the Chinese investors aware of BEPZA and after signing the MoU it would call for giving more care and investment facilitation in the export processing zones of Bangladesh.
The meeting was attended by high officials of both BEPZA and BCCCI, including the BCCCI Vice President, Mohd. Ishaqul Hosssin Sweet, Mr. Li Xiao, Director, Khandaker Atiqur Rahman, Director, Mohammad Hafizur Rahman Khan, Director, Kazi Newaz Ibne Mahtab, Director and Md. Abu Taher, Office Secretary.
