Spare me the performative thoughts and prayers. They became background noise after the hundredth mass shooting we shrugged off, so your folded-hands emoji does nothing for the families planning funerals today.
Conservatives shout “shall not be infringed” and then melt down when anyone links that absolutism to real-world body counts. MAGA extremists even stormed the Capitol on January 6 and still claim nothing was wrong. Meanwhile plenty of influencers on the left amplify street-level property damage when it suits their narrative but go quiet once the headlines fade. The outrage is selective, the fixes are nonexistent, and the casualty list keeps growing.
Here is the truth everyone dodges: easy guns plus human anger equals predictable carnage. We either tighten access with universal background checks, licensing similar to driving, red-flag laws, and mandatory safe storage, or we keep tallying the dead while pretending a hashtag heals wounds.
There is no too soon. The shooting timeline never pauses, so if you keep electing leaders who block every safety measure you chose this outcome. Own it, and until you back real laws that value living people over cold metal, save the empty condolences.

Profoundly saddened by a mass shooting in NYC killing 4 people, including a police officer. We must never accept the lie that gun casualties are the price of constitutional freedom. May the memories of the lost be a blessing to friends & family & a reminder to all of us to act.
