"What is "Kemono" art and what differentiates it from "western art""?

This is very much a matter of opinion, however on this board it will be as follows:
Originally it referred to Japanese art and media centralising anthropomorphic animal characters, the word itself is a contraction of the Japanese word for "Beastman". However since then, the term has grown to accept many art styles of Anthro-centric art that are common mostly in east/south-east Asia (Japan, China, Thailand, etc), though it is not limited to artists from that region, some artists from N.A. and Europe emulate the style as well. For the purposes of this site, Kemono is a blanket of styles, not a nationality.
An example is the pic used in this post, though the artist is Chinese, many would consider much of his art to be "kemono" art.
If you're still confused, just lurk the board and you'll pick it up pretty quickly.

I think he's waiting on the next event to release 14.5, and possibly 15 since the cover teaser was months ago in May, and the Kemoket it was supposed to be released at was cancelled.
I'd expect something at Kemoket 9.5, which is on the 21st of November.

FAKKU is working on vol 10 atm, and this time they're claiming a volume per 2 month roadmap so see how that goes; means you should expect it in late September.

A physical omnibus would depend on demand and honestly I don't see it happening.

dang it, the site might be dying. I don't mind that we may not get a replacement site any time soon, but I would like as the BO if they can at least get something like twitter or a discord channel, as least as an anchor should 8kun go down again, perhaps permanently, incase they figure what site can we migrate to.

I've hesitated answering this because I don't really know how to in a satisfying way, but I'll just be blunt; I don't have any interest in any kind of social media even for practical purposes regarding this board. We have an IRC, but it's been effectively dead since 2014 though I still lurk it and that's about as much as I care to do. Why? I simply hate big social media and hate discord.
Regarding the replacement site, the database is done, but it's been equal parts business and laziness preventing me from finishing it. I'm also hesitant about some theme/design choices but I think I'm just going to go full-steam-ahead and just fix it later if it doesn't work out.
I don't really see myself as any kind of community leader in charge of where we go, the community will naturally find its niche if this one disappears.
I'm sorry if that's not the answer you wanted to hear.

However, I do prefer how peaceful the community here is, and it remain a good place to find a kemono topic without too much limitation, or shitpost, that and you were making a replacement site, which I would like to see it happen, so I had a good reason to keep following you, because I am at least curious to see what will you come up with. So, it not that I need you to have twitter or discord, but I just would like to at least find a way to reliably receive update on that project of your at least.
But if you are not comfortable, then we might just leave it at that for now and hope for the best. Perhaps one of us can make a thread about migration plan.

Thanks for feedback. While i disagree with you (I don't think Kemono style has to look only like the popular artists, as I use Comet/Mo-Hiro as inspiration) the style is always open for improvement. As a consequence, I don't really mind giving off a western/eastern blend of the style as I'm not intending for it to be pure japanese style, it's more of my personal take on the whole genre. But yeah, maybe eyes should be bigger.

Thanks, I have a store page on Itch.io at the moment but nothing is published yet. There's so, so much work left but I'm feeling hopeful that I'll get somewhere. I'll keep this updated as milestones are met. Next up is network functionality…

So they're making a sequel to this game apparently. This one's called Beta-Sixdouze, because the writers like their books about space and foxes.

There's a new character named Origin who looks identical to Lunette, the purple kemo girl in the first game. I dunno what the plot of Nighthawk was like or what happened to the characters, but Lunette also returns in Sixdouze, looking like this
