AMT Netherlands generator project
Some history:
In 2015 AMT was asked if it was possible to get electrical power (1Kw) out of a running small turbine. The starter/generator unit (SGU) should be an integrated system as part of the turbine.
A feasibility study was started by Olivier Stenger for his major at Avans Hogeschool Academie voor Engineering en ICT. He started with making sketches where a possible SGU would be placed.

After a pro and con analyses many issues where raised such as themperature problems for the magnets and coils when they would be close to the burning chamber aera.
Besides thermo issues the own frequency of the turbine shaft could be an issue.
Calculations resulted in resonce frequencies which were in the operating aera of the turbine itself.
After graduation of Oliver Stenger initially the project team decided to start with the in-runner design with the magnet in front of the compressor like the design above.
A lot of time was spend with dimensioning designs and calculations to find the best solution of several designs.
