After shipping ten machines to the U.S. distributor Cointaker last week, a slight delay in powder-coated parts for the game made DPX unsure if it could get any more games to the United States before the current August 1st deadline for tariffs on EU goods to increase to 30%. So the Company decided to send the current batch of machines on its production line (pictured below) to European customers.
I follow the tariff situation fairly closely and I suspect that an agreement or extension that taxes EU goods destined for the United States at a lower rate, possibly around 15%, will be reached before the August deadline, but nothing is guaranteed. If so, shipments from DPX to U.S. distros would likely resume, if not it could be a while before any more are shipped here.
