i need to make my art about black joy and be extremely obnoxious about it. i need my art to be blacker, I love being black and I wont let anyone take that and make me assimilate or steal it.

Sinner just exudes so much black joy that the most memorable scenes to me are the ones where the characters are finding happiness, love, and more in spite of a racist society.
The “I Lied To You” scene lives rent free in my head and inspired me to dig into my own Hispanic ancestry and learn more.
