The "For the People Act of 2019" wasn’t some bipartisan failure. It was a serious Democratic attempt to fix our broken system, and one of the biggest targets was gerrymandering. Every single Democrat in the House voted for it. Republicans? Almost all voted no. In the Senate, McConnell blocked it entirely. It never even got a vote. That wasn’t debate. That was a shutdown. MAGA Republicans killed this because gerrymandering is the only way they stay in power. Their policies aren’t popular, so they rig the maps instead. I’m for ending that. We already have county lines. There’s no reason to draw these spaghetti-shaped districts just to protect incumbents. Use the maps we already have. Let voters actually choose their representatives for once. You want fair elections? Then start with fair maps.
