⚠️🇭🇺 Hungary won’t be lectured for defending Hungarians. A Hungarian, and therefore an EU citizen, József Sebestyén, was beaten to death by Ukrainian officers during a conscription attempt. That this is a systemic problem is clearly confirmed by the recent report of the Council of Europe’s Human Rights Commissioner, which documented widespread abuse by Ukrainian draft officers: beatings, unlawful arrests, denial of legal aid, solitary confinement, and even the mobilisation of people with disabilities. It is unacceptable that Ukraine uses brutal methods against a Hungarian citizen. Therefore, the three conscription officers responsible for the death of József Sebestyén must be held accountable—this is why we introduced personal sanctions against them. We expect the Ukrainian authorities to take also appropriate steps to ensure justice is served.

Hungary’s decision to ban three Ukrainian military officials from entering its territory is unfounded and absurd. We reject Hungary's manipulations and we will not tolerate such disrespect for our military. Ukraine reserves the right to take appropriate action in response.
