god, the plot of everything to do with X&Y is just so boring. I like the direction they're taking with the animation and music and stuff, but this just played out like a long anime episode

this is possibly the worst localized Pokémon movie I've seen yet. the dialogue is so bad and the mid 2010s anime tropes are so cringe

that being said, the animation is absolutely gorgeous and the music is great. the story's pretty alright too, even though not a lot really happened

this movie was technically great. it had really great storytelling, a great score, and great visuals. but they did a lot and none of it was particularly impactful or appealing to me. I think they could've done so much better if they raised the age rating just a little bit
