Do not be deceived by the simpering lip-service that Valens smatters throughout the article to pose as a Pippa fan. The decision to tie the actions of Elijah Miller to Pippa's brand is very deliberate; Pippa was one of the biggest creators to publicly (on stream) lampoon Valen's first hitpiece on VAllure. One of the primary tools 'journalists' use to make a point while feigning neutrality is Framing: to selectively draw attention to certain aspects of a person or situation by neglecting, omitting and/or obscuring all others. Throughout the past year, I've been working to teach my audience to recognise when Framing is used because - for 'journalists' - it's the perfect weapon against accountability, since you can lead people to false conclusions without actually lying. According to their online presence prior to the arrest, the individual who is the subject of this article was many things. In no particular order, they were: - transgender - a WWII Nazi larper - a self-professed libertarian - a self-confessed pedophile - a VRChat ERPer - obsessed with VTubers - a known counter-protestor who had already been arrested by the Feds prior to this current event. Conspicuously, the article only bothers to harp on two of those seven points, with there being little to no mention of the others. This is relevant because it results in an article that deliberately forgoes any nuanced dissection of Miller's personality, motives or lack thereof in favour of attempting to tie Miller's actions exclusively to his consumption of Pippa's content. Between the writer of the article and the subject of said article, there is not a single Pippa fan in sight. 0/10, maybe next time try writing a hitpiece about a VTuber that didn't publicly mock your first abortion of an article so that what you're doing becomes a bit more subtle.
