The font for Prince's iconic love symbol, which first appeared in his 1992 album Love Symbol. Prince used this symbol as his name from 1993 to 1999, in order to protest against his record label, Warner Bros. Records.
The symbol came in a yellow floppy disk as a custom-made font in order for news outlets to type in his new name in publications.
The symbol was later available to be downloaded publicly on Dropbox following his death in April 21, 2016, after Mike Wehner from The Daily Dot found the file for the font after digging through the game files of Prince Interactive, an obscure video game dedicated to Prince released in 1994, and converted it to make it compatible for modern operating systems.
