My wife and I recently got some DMSO (from DMSOstore on amazon) and we've both been using it, and also giving some to our young daughter who has Down Syndrome. We've been giving her extra vitamins based on the treatment protocol of some studies that I found after reading your previous posts on this topic.

Almost immediately we noticed that our little girl was sleeping better through the night, and she's become more verbal. She'll be 2 in less than a week and she suddenly seems like she wants to say words more intentionally now, even if we mostly can't understand them yet. Also, her appetite has improved substantially. She just seems more active, and that's really awesome!

My wife writes about our daughter on her substack, although there aren't any DMSO specific posts yet:

https://theupsidedowns.substack.com/

And here's a song we wrote about her a few months ago:

I couldn't find any other information that was nearly as good as what you've written on DMSO. I did read a couple studies about potential nutritional deficiencies, so our protocol includes supplementing selenium, methylfolate, and trimethylglycine. There are a few other things I'm considering as well.

Here's one of the studies regarding nutrients including selenium:

That make sense. I am sure the research in this area on the supplemental nutrients has advanced greatly since when they were just using a few amino acids.

Wonderful to hear that you're supporting your daughter's nutrient deficiencies with supplements. After years in this space (daughter with CVID/PANS), I, and many other biomed families, have come to learn that it often comes back to the minerals! Selenium, Molyb and Iodine are commonly deficient. We also find that ramping up the minerals too quickly can cause painful detox symptoms (ramping up dormant pathways mobilizes toxins faster than they can be excreted).

Most of all, just wanted to jump on her and mention that what we avoid is equally important. It is important to try to avoid synthetic minerals or vitamins that are added to processed foods such as milks, juices, grains, and almost everything in a package. Our immune compromised kids cannot metabolize synthetic ingredients. The harms can be profound as they accumulate in the body. They can literally gum up your circulation, circulating in the blood, never entering the cells, and preventing various pathways to operate fully. It can take years for the body to get rid of these synthetic ingredients. Avoiding them is VERY hard to do as they are in everything. Synthetic forms of folate (Folic Acid), B12 and vitamin C are ubiquitous.

DMSO comes in liquid or gel forms. I buy the liquid form, 99.9% pure, and put it in a 10ml glass bottle with a steel roller ball an add about 2ml of pure organic carrier oil (coconut, castor or jojoba). Then when something hurts, I just roll it on. Works instantly and I re-apply as needed. It’s especially helpful for tennis elbow due to computer usage for work. I also will add a few drops of essential oils known to relieve pain such as ginger, bay, turmeric, juniper, black pepper, etc. The DMSO allows the oils to penetrate the skin providing deeper and longer-lasting relief. The carrier oil helps reduce the side effect of itching that high-strength DMSO can sometimes cause. You can use it straight without adding oil but the skin might be more irritated by it. The irritation is temporary in my experience.

It is my understanding that metal should never b used in the preparation/application of DMSO. I've read many books on DMSO, followed many users, etc & I have used DMSO for many years with great success but I absolutely avoid using metal with same. Namaste.

Ian... So proud of you and your family! Stay the course... Avoid white coats and blue lights as far as possible!

One useful supplement for youngsters like your daughter is cannabidiol (CBD). I have had numerous Down's folks as patients and all have benefited from CBD - helps with anxiety and agitation. Kids and adults on ASD spectrum all are helped, as well as ADD/ADHD.

Charlotte's Web is a good source for 5mg gummies that has been helpful for many of my patients. https://www.charlottesweb.com/

The biggest issue with CBD is that it is unregulated if there is less than 0.3% THC with the CBD. Thus, I am convinced that many of the CBD products online and found everywhere from gas stations to grocery stores are bogus. Charlotte's Web is a reliable source and was a main driver behind CBD's widespread adoption.

Best to you and yours...

DMSO is a game changer! I took some doxycycline for a week and a combination of MMS (chlorine dioxide) + DMSO to completely heal my infected tooth (it had the 'zit' on my gumline typical of infection). I also aimed a cheap red laser light at my cheek to help heal my infected tooth. My tooth is totally healed. No pain. No ouchies with hot or cold. If I'd have known how to treat my teeth this way I'd have never gotten so many root canals and fillings.

DMSO sends the healing right to the source. It's amazing stuff. It crosses the blood brain barrier too. Obviously, you have to be careful when using it. XOXO

As a dentist please please just get your teeth cleaned. Many people today don’t trust us and for a good reason. Those who signed agreements with insurance companies to become participating providers, are the ones I wouldn’t trust. Others like myself with no such agreement work conservatively and for the benefit of a patient.

Have an X-ray of the tooth to determine what is the cause of the infection.

Would you go to the doctor if your hand was infected the same way? Why not to a dentist?

why not go to a dentist? because they don't like when I say no flouride for my kids, they don't like when I say no to sealing their teeth with chemicals and they don't like when I say no to X Rays. I don't like dentist offices that still do mercury fillings - or remove mercury fillings as it is in the air/environment - if I say no, they will kick me out of their practice. My reply is a bit late but, I clean my teeth so religiously, I don’t need a teeth cleaning like average people. I’ve gone to a dentist for a teeth cleaning after five years of not having a visit and they are always shocked how clean I keep my teeth and tell me that they have regular clients who come in with teeth not even close as clean and polished as mine after only a few months from their last cleaning. I also, abhor going to dentist appointments because I don’t like getting my head x-rayed every effing time. It’s ridiculou$. I’m sure you’re a rare and honest dentist but I’m fine taking care of my own dental health. I need a dentist like a comedian needs a room full of hecklers.

Why not go to a dentist you ask ?

1- they put mercury poison in my mouth that leeched into my body. I had to get 5 teeth removed and 6 other fillings replaced.

2- They advocate systemic use of fluoride for tooth caries, when there is no benefit from systemic use of fluoride, it is a topical effect. While fluoride kills enzymes, which kills cells, which harms people, reduces IQ , and affects many parts of the body.

3- I was on to the fraud of dentistry, long before the fraud of modern medicine became apparent.

4- Although the toxicity of systemic fluoride is long ago proven, and the justification is based on non science from decades ago, while hundreds of studies showing harm are ignored?

The ADA still supports it. While we know for fact that the USA and Canada drink most of the systemically consumed fluoride on the planet.

5- root canals leave toxic shit in your mouth, even with cavitation. Dentists pimp them for profit.

I use colloidal silver for tooth problems. While I "pull" with it twice a week. I will never go to another dentist unless I am driven to it by pain.

I dilute the 99% to 50% using sterile filtered water . and start with that to see if it can be tolerated . I have been using a teaspoon of 99% in 1/3 cup of warm water ,as a teeth rinse . my tooth is much better .

I am still using 99% of DMSO (1 teaspoon) in 1/3 cup of hot water. once a day . as a mouth wash . There still is a tenderness above the tooth . what happened in the first place ,was there was a crown 3 teeth on two teeth pegged. the dentist during the install of the crown , nicked the peg , and put a tiny hole at the gum line . after 8 years ,the the tiny hole became a low grade infected and caused the tooth to decay at the gumline and infected the other good tooth and the crown broke off at the gum line . he ignored this at the time of install , I kept complaining , but he kept denying. I have been doing super cleaning to keep infection away ,also added the DMSO . I had this same thing happen years ago and the infection almost killed me , so I am fearful of dentists , so far I have kept the infection at bay .

Dmso is indeed marvelous. We gave 50 grams of Dmso i.v. daily for five months to a person who severed her lumbar spinal column. No organ damage noted from the Dmso and she can now drive and walk albeit slowly. Approximately forty (out of forty) patients with confirmed bacterial prostatitis have eliminated the bacteria in their prostate with a single dose of antibiotic dissolved in Dmso administrated via catheter three times a week for 4 weeks. No recurrences. Hematoxylin dissolved in Dmso i.v. has reverted several cancers. Speaking to the topic brought up in your Substack - LD50 - before employing the treatment an LD50 study was clearly necessary. Since a published study was not found we had to take on the challenge of doing one. At the dosis necessary the result was several times less toxic than acetaminofen mentioned in your article above.

Could I just add here that mid-December 2019 I underwent a TURP for BPH (that is I had a re-bore of my plumbing for a benign swollen prostate which had totally blocked my water pipe) - just in time before the covid debacle. Though it mostly cured my problems it remained difficult to pass water without a full bladder and I frequently wake in the mornings feeling pressure on my kidneys. About 3 or 4 weeks ago I started taking 99.95% dmso orally, a teaspoon per day in the morning.

Within 5 days several things were noticeable a) I pass water far more easily, b) my hearing accentuated, c) my eyesight improved somewhat, d) my mind was that much sharper and e) my blood pressure dropped from 160/90 to 150/80 and I just sense my heart is that much better.

PS

I had done a fair bit of research before jumping into dmso as I've had 2 ablations of the heart for atrial fibrillation. I'd already begun talking to my GP that I thought I was on too many meds for heart and BP (amlodipine, ramipril, bisoprolol and apixaban). We'd agreed to drop the ramipril and increase the amlodipine but this seemed to me to increase my BP. However, I unilaterally decided to dump the bisoprolol and apixaban and take up dmso. I feel totally justified in taking dictatorial control of my own body and I'm quite prepared to argue with the docs. (He'd relayed a message that the cardiologists had been emphatic that they I should continue the bisoprolol and apixaban but supplied no evidence or reason. Well, I'm sorry but, "Because the doctor says so" is, in my book, no longer a good reason to do so. In fact the opposite. Here in the UK the National Health Service is commanded by the National Harm Service who drive all the protocols. That they have suppressed dmso for decades is categoric proof that they are evil. They have intent to harm. Well, that is off my chest. Hahaha

Your mouth looks like that of a 30 year old. I’m 63. And she said, we don’t see many 30 year olds anymore that have such a healthy mouth. No dark triangles, beautiful pink gums. I was overjoyed! I had years of dental ails prior to this. I think she was so stunned because she has been looking at teeth for 30+ years. And was used to be more the norm is now the exception. APIXABAN / ELIQUIS

This is exactly the kind of post I came here to search for. I struggle with feeble blood circulation in my legs below the knee (whatever that part of the leg is called in English). In combination with working (day and night) with computers, I ended up having two instances of pulmonary embolism, so, blood thinner is a thing for me.

My question is, can DMSO be of any help to get off Apixaban altogether? (I have NOT used Apixaban and DMSO at the same time while trying DMSO).

Anyway, my story:

* Two (2) instances of pulmonary embolism.

* first time: Eliquis for one year.

* second time: Eliquis AGAIN, but the prescription suddenly stopped after 6 months (early this spring).

* Inherited poor blood circulation in my lower legs.

* As a programmer, sitting very much.

* Compression socks tend to stop blood flow rather than speed it up... (I'm done with them).

---

So that was the background. And now I got interested in DMSO (and I have also tried applying Cayenne pepper on the lower legs and wrapping them with thin plastic. Cayenne pepper (from the food store) applied like this increases blood flow immediately (due to capsaisin, I presume), but it's greasy, messy and cumbersome to apply.

Now, you have had good results with DMSO, taking one teaspoon daily, and I'd like to know how much one can take per kg body weight, and if it also can help dissolve existing blood clots in the lungs and lower legs?

I'm pretty sure the clotting is at me again after my prescription of Eliquis was disrupted after 6 months (early spring) and the fact that I just couldn't increase my general fitness throughout the summer despite walking 5km every day, plus cycling etc. (had to rest 1 or 2 times along the 5km trail.

Feeling like a 90 year old at 63, although having no other health issues...

Anyone with experience of treating such a case (feeble blood circulation in lower legs with more serious pulmonary embolism almost guaranteed if not quickly finding a solution). I would prefer any effective (and convenient) alternative to eliquis.

In short, I want pfizer out of my system. ;-)

My husband has, well I should say had, terrible varicose veins in his feet and shins as a result of breaking both ankles when he was in his 20s. I started using witch hazel on his legs letting it dry and then applying a 70/30 DMSO cream. He also takes he takes Hawthornberry (to strengthen the veins) and cayenne pepper capsules 3x a day (vaso dilation ). (see Barbara O'Neil's videos on YouTube) He used to have two spots that I called "bulging roses" they have all but disappeared. The smaller veins on top of his feet and sides of his ankles are improving everyday. We also bought a wedge so he can elevate his legs when he sleeps. He's not one to lay on the couch during the day so I had to get him to do it at bedtime.

Another thing we used DMSO for was to get rid of toe nail fungus. A few years ago he saw podiatrist and had his toe nail removed because of nail fungus. the toe nail grew back a bit but never much past the quick and the nail bed was useless. We tried all sorts of things Tea Tree Oil, commercial nail fungus products, etc. Nothing worked. So we decided to try something new. He soaked his feet in Epsom salt foot bath every night. Then at bed time we put Ivermectin paste on the toe and then DMSO cream and put a sterile bandaid over it. In the morning after his shower before dressing he did it again. Within a week the toe nail was free of fungus. Today it's still gone and the toe nail has grown back healthy.

I have just recently been using something very similar for toenail fungus. Have had the issue for decades, nothing seemed to help. About a month ago, I mixed 1/3 DMSO, 1/3 iodine spray, 1/3 ivermectin cattle dip (a tincture of ivermectin in isopropyl alcohol) -- all available at my local farm co-op. Put a drop or two on my bad toe nails near the base and at the outer end, once in the morning, once in the evening. Within a week or two the fungus seemed to be dead and the toenail aches stopped, but I have continued applying it while the nail grows out. It is too early to know what the long term nail growth will be, whether just nail bed, or completely restored, but this has worked FAR BETTER than anything else I have ever tried.

Coincidence seeing your post today as I too have a clot DVT in my leg and was just reading dmso user comments on Amazon, and saw this: excerpt “….recently i had a blood clot in my leg, i used it once an hour 24 hrs then several times a day and rubbing over my leg every few hours and within 8 days it was gone, which was proven by ultrasound…” If want to read his full comment look up those under the “DMSO 8 oz. I am on compression stockings for life, occasionally go without, but when sitting I always elevate my leg on desk or tabletop. And homeopathic Ledum 1M gives relief too when I feel concern in leg. Aside, a vascular surgeon said I’d be on blood thinners for life, and blessedly at urging of a friend I saw a highly acclaimed orthopedic doc who’s specialty is hip and knee replacements who said my swelling was due to the thinners, a cardiologist confirmed no need for thinner as clot had probably been there for over 50yr (as I was bedridden for seven months after major broken leg car accident back then). Blessed to get a life altering second opinion so no thinner or knee replacement.

CARTILAGE AND SHOULDER, KNEE & SPINE CARPENTRY

>"no thinner or knee replacement."

Wow, that was a wonderful turn of events!

From one thing to another; I have a question about recovery of injured or degenerated joint cartilage (The "knee replacement" statement caught my special attention.)

Background: A short while ago I was developing (low-level programming of) software for analyzing 3D CT & MRI scans of injured shoulders, knees & spine etc., in cooperation with a surgeon and some other domain experts. This very kind surgeon once mentioned, that if an injured cartilage in the joints is ruined more than ~25%, then it will never recover.

(My guess is that it has something to do with cell-signaling becoming too weak as the cartilage gets destroyed, but who knows).

Now, based on my worldview I felt that the claim that "it can never recover again" cannot be an absolute truth, because biological systems tend to be smarter than us in the sense that our biology is essentially advanced information systems, even communication systems between cells, aso (and these systems can be tampered with in both good and bad ways).

So, I replied that I don't believe that the "cannot recover"-part in his statement to be absolutely true (although it's probably the common understanding out there).

More likely, what may happen in these cases perhaps is that the cell signaling gets "weakened", or gene methylation kicks in (or whatever mechanisms are involved) and so the cartilage stops (re)generating. I mean, if it can heal at some degree of injury, then it should (theoretically) be able to heal at ANY degree of injury (at least if we could help it to heal).

I also mentioned the simple fact that in the embryological stages cartilage develops without any problem, and cancer cells have the opposite problem (difficult to stop from spouting new cells, aso...). The genes involved in genetic mechanisms (even in GRNs) activated during embryological stages often get replaced in later stages of the embryo.-growth (one gene can swap into entirely new roles up to 5 times during the embryological growth (Eric Davidson, CalTech), so some pre-existing functionality may get lost for good, but who knows exactly what genetic potential stays for life[*]?).

In any case, the claim that "cartilage cannot renew itself" stuck with me, and since this is a very (very) big problem in the wild, I'm curious to learn if there's any "uncommon knowledge" out there that can shed more light on what can be done about ruined cartilage in joints?

----

[*] From a design-perspective (I'm a software designer myself), it would be wasteful (read; idiotic) to keep all the scaffolding and support structures needed during the construction of a building, or our bodies, for the rest of the lifetime of the building or the body, because that specific genetic information that will never be used again would have to be maintained and consume energy for say another hundred years while being effective only "during the construction" of the body, often only for a couple of hours, days or weeks.

I don’t know if cartilage can renew itself or not, but I have had some version of prolotherapy done on my knee for torn meniscus and shoulder for tendon damage and in both cases it was wildly successful. My shoulder was less damaged and gets used less, and I only went to one of four appointments. I have complete pain free use of my shoulder still and the treatment was a good 15 years ago. My knee was swollen to the point I couldn’t walk, much less work (I am a tree climber/arborist and used to run a lot). I got 3 of the 4 prescribed treatments and I went back full time to tree climbing and have run many races since then including two full marathons. For my shoulder, the doc just injected an inert solution to provoke inflammation and that worked. For my knee, he centrifuged my own blood in the office and injected some of the blood cells directly into the wound. Some swelling, some discomfort, after 24 hours all of that is gone and you go on as before. Usually one month between visits. Incredibly cheap compared to surgery, and no side effects. I Used Dr Tallman in Scottsdale/Phoenix Arizona, who is an incredibly compassionate and conscientious doctor and who worked with me with the price because I didn’t have much. The Platelet Rich Plasma PRP treatments are now widely used in sports medicine and you can get them just about anywhere, though it helps to find a doc who does his homework on the injury and is thorough and conscientious and pays attention to where the needle goes.

Hopefully this will give a little more info…

I save a lot of blog posts and reader comments, not assuming helpful websites will always remain accessible, just searched my files and found a couple of ‘cartilage’ comments fwiw, both from the AMD articles:

1__“I have grade 4 chondromalacia and basically no cartiladge left behind the kneecaps , due to a patellofemoral tracking disorder . I strained my knee several days ago and the swelling was significant . I thought I would have to have the fluid drained and steroid instilled . I have had this done twice in the past . I used castor oil first on my knee, rubbed it in, then, 100% DMSO . I iced and rested the knee. I did this two or three times a day . Amazing response!! Better than draining and steroid !“

2__”I crushed the cartilage in my right ear by accident, applied DMSO, and the wound was healed in three days, without scars.”

BTW the Amazon commenter I mentioned earlier (treating the clot in his leg) also noted that a dmso teaspoon stopped a stroke while it was happening in his mother, and with dmso his parents (father is 93yo) have been off blood thinners for three years now though not clear to me what daily dose he now gives them---maybe a tablespoon---anyway maybe encouraging to think it a future possibility….

Short answer: in your shoes I would not hesitate to take dmso instead of apixaban/eliquis. The latter inhibits Factor Xa, an amplification enzyme in the cascade of coagulation. It prevents clots. It does nothing else. Dmso additionally removes clots and increases blood perfusion throughout the body. It is criminal that they do not prescribe it. IMO.

If you're going to take it orally make sure you get 99.9% or better. Topically Dr. Stanley Jacob found 70% strength optimal, usually. You can get 70% in aloe vera in HDPE bottles. (That hard plastic is supposed to be OK)

As to how much I don't know the limit, it is likely quite a lot. But I believe Jacob himself drank an ounce a day (5 teaspoons). He himself said it was very individual how much was best. Take it slow and try to find the best for you. Give your body a chance to respond to its new resource. It has to learn how to use it. (In a pulmonary emergency I'd just slap it on. :-)

Try a little on your skin first to make sure you are not allergic.

Expand full comment
Rolf's avatar

Thank you for your reply!

I got myself a box of eliquis (doctors panicked after a routine health check when discovering that my prescription had been interrupted last spring. They said I should be on eliquis for life). But although I have the box now I will not open it before I have tried DMSO orally for a month or so. Hopefully I will never have to open it again.

But if I stop responding here you'll know it didn't end as expected... ;-)

For 4 days now I have taken a teaspoon of 99.9% DMSO orally, mixed in a glass of orange juice or distilled water (tap water not the best quality in my town).

Do I understand you correctly that it would be better to sip a "clean 70%" mix (mixing the 99.9% DMSO with 30% distilled water) rather than mixing it with a glass full of distilled water? (I've tried a 50% concentration tablespoon earlier (orally) without any problem).

Anyway, I will try double the amount each day for two consecutive days and see how I respond. If I can tolerate up to, say 4-5 teaspoons a day for a month, I think I can feel confident to turn this around, and then perhaps reduce it some after that.

I don't think I have a pulmonary emergency just yet but it could quickly end up in an emergency again if I'm not addressing it immediately. So I'll increase the dose immediately (in a minute or two).

I feel your reply is very helpful since I now know at least the "theoretical limits" (for example the "5 teaspoons a day" remark). Thank you!

"MOUSE WRIST"

BTW, I've noticed some significant rash on the skin when applied topically on the wrist on my "mouse arm" (perhaps a carpal tunnel syndrome). But since the itching calms down after an hour or two I don't care much about it if it fixes my wrist (remains to see). I call it a "mouse-wrist" so I'm using two mice, one for each hand.

Very best wishes! for me the greatest thing is the perfusion. The blood is the life, as the Bible says. Get the blood going where is should be and the body will heal itself.

I think the way you are taking dmso orally now is fine. The 70% is for wiping onto your legs. Does not help to rub it in. Wipe it on and leave it to dry for 15-20 minutes if possible.

I am fortunate in that I do not get a rash. The dilution to 70% is meant to ease that rash, that was Jacob's experience. The aloe vera similarly eases the itching.

Quite probably as they have separate actions. I have the confidence to go with DMSO alone because I sincerely believe it to be superior. But I'm not your husband and I'm not a doctor. Eliquis has a single action - it inhibits an enzyme.

My own thought process was that there may just possibly be a cross-reactivity - but I do not know of any occasion on which a thing has occurred with any other drug. I stopped the Eliquis (Apixaban is just another name for it.) and started the DMSO at the same time. Nevertheless you are wise to be cautious. Perhaps talk to your doctor.

Sometimes I also take a teaspoon of organic honey afterwards, directly in my mouth. This reduces any smell from metabolizing DMSO.

I would not use honey mixed with any spooky stuff or watery mess. Organic. Fairly "dry" (which is a sign of natural and well preserved honey).

Lack of circulation can be due to clogged arteries, which, according to the Pauling and Rath theory, comes from a lack of vitamin C. Their protocol is 6-18 grams of vitamin C a day and 3-6 grams of L-lysine a day. People with chest pain have seen relief within 10 days to a month of starting this protocol, so I'm thinking if this can unclog coronary arteries, it can do the same for the legs, maybe. Scott: “In early June 2024 I wrote about the anticoagulant drug Sulodexide (SDX) in my Substack, https://lightningbug.substack.com/p/from-russia-with-love

Some excerpts “… my cardiac echo had shown that I was in heart failure after the COVID shots, with an ejection fraction of 40% and four leaky valves. Three months ago I started taking Sulodexide…...What is reassuring about Sulodexide is that is has been approved by European drug agencies and has been in use since 1972…. is available as a generic medication, which makes it cheaper than comparable drugs such as Eliquis… being cheaper and safer than Eliquis makes it very unlikely that we will see Sulodexide approved by the FDA anytime soon, as it would threaten the Big Pharma…..I know it is scary to think of this, but 100% of the patients we have tested have had micro clotting..’’

Yes I read throughout the comments and saw you put it in orange juice so I just got a glass of water and yes still tastes awful in plain water but I follow it with half a teaspoon of a herbal compound that coincidentally has an orange flavor and it takes care of the engine oil taste. Thank you! I have a large background with Ozone, and I've essentially just not written about it here yet because it was more well known (compared to UVBI or DMSO).

Regarding DMSO: basically, what would help me is a summary of all your clinical experience with it as there are very few DMSO doctors now. That could include elaborating on what you wrote above, or going into a lot more. Similarly, if you do a rough cut at it, I could ask a few questions and point out areas for you to elaborate. I really want to get the DMSO topic into public awareness, so I've been quite methodical on how I've delved into it, but as I'm sure you know, there's a lot I still have not touched. I also am not as familiar with the spanish literature (which I'm guessing you are) so there are probably some critical studies you know of that I do not.

Beyond that though, having a real named doctor who is currently practicing with IV DMSO and getting results with it will do a lot to cement the credibility of this, and I am relatively sure if it's put together correctly, a lot of people will want to fly out to your clinic, which in turn will advance my goal of bringing more awareness to this topic and make more people in the USA want to offer it.

Thank you once again AMD for a great article on the safety of DMSO. I ordered DMSO immediately after your first article appeared. I am now in the 4th week of testing DMSO for Parkinson's diseasr. I followed the recommended dosing schedule starting at 3.5g/day taken orally and scaling up to 14g. It soon became clear to me that this was too much as I had severe headache and brain fog, so I decided to take a break. On the second day of the break my Parkinson's symptoms almost disappeared and I felt better than I had felt for ages. The biggest improvement was in relief from bradykinesia. After being slow for the past years, I suddenly became Mr Speedy.

I was diagnosed with PD in 2018 and I'm not new to alternative therapies for PD that bring real benefit to patients so this came as no real surprise to me. I have been treating my PD with sulforaphane in a Broccoli Seed Tea (BST) that I created in 2020. Sulforaphane is a potent activator of the Nrf2 pathway that controls oxidative stress and improves mitochondrial function. BST is very effective in attenuating non-motor symptoms of PD, particularly constipation, brain fog, fatigue and urinary urgency, but it has little effect on motor symptoms. DMSO seems to be complementary to sulforaphane in that it attenuated motor symptoms. I suspect that sulforaphane does not easily cross the BBB whereas DMSO does. I am now dosing at 2g/day applied topically and doing well. At this dose I get minor brain fog for about one hour and the benefits of DMSO for the rest of the day. Once I am satisfied that I have a good idea of the dose range, benefits and any side effects, I will discuss how to go forward with the group of PD patients who currently use BST (about 50 worldwide). My intention is to try to define a protocol for a small number of n=1 tests by people in the BST group on the basis of self-experimentation in order to get a more representative idea of what DMSO can do for PD. I'll keep you posted of the progress.

Starting next week, at least 3 Parkinson's patients will be testing DMSO either topically or orally. The timescale of the response I observed for DMSO is identical to that I had for sulforaphane 4 years ago on non-motor symptoms. This may indicate that similar mechanisms are involved. In terms of symptom response to DMSO, in these first 4 weeks, pain, speed and the range of movement were most improved, followed by stiffness. Tremor seems to take more time to respond but there are already subtle signs of improvement. I and my family have also noted improvements in a whole range of other symptoms: brighter facial expression, eye comfort (more irrigation), stronger voice, more energy, better left/right hand coordination (fewer typing errors when using computer keyboard) and improved handwriting. Most importantly, I have periods of feeling really good which were previously absent. I have no doubt that DMSO is doing something good.

I can confirm a definite trend in improvements in motor symptoms of Parkinson's, including tremor, after only 6 weeks of using DMSO. At the same time I find it very hard to quantify that result since it is not at all constant. At the dose I am using, 1.5 ml per day, taken orally, my sleep quality has become much worse and that clearly has a negative effect on tremor. Even at this low dose, if I deliberately omit a dose, the next day I feel better. Does this mean that the dose is still too high, or is the frequency too high? When using sulforaphane in Broccoli seed tea, we came to the conclusion that, in the long term, a dosing frequncy of twice per week gave much better results than dosing daily.

MWD, is there any evidence from studies on other conditions or are there any mechanistic arguments in favor of such a dosing frequency?

I thought these (https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3762356/ https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4828997/) two studies might be interesting for you, in short, they say that intramuscular injections of thiamin along with small amounts of b vitamins led to a significant improvement of motor and non-motor symptoms of the patients with PD; this improvement was stable during time and without side effects. Quoting the study here: "The absence of blood thiamine deficiency and the efficacy of high-dose thiamine in our patients suggest that the symptoms of PD are the manifestation of a thiamine deficiency likely due to a dysfunction of the active transport of thiamine inside the cells or due to structural enzymatic abnormalities. In other words, we believe that the motor and non-motor symptoms of PD could derive from a chronic thiamine deficiency which is composed by:

Severe focal thiamine deficiency that could determine a progressive dysfunction and selective neuronal loss in the substantia nigra pars compacta and in other centres that are typically hit in this disease.

Mild thiamine deficiency in all other cells that could lead the cells to a suffering state and the presence of fatigue. Fatigue could be the true systemic symptom of the disease. In our opinion, the primary cause of PD is less expressed in all other cells where the disease determines a mild thiamine deficiency that causes fatigue and related disorders.

The Patient Researcher's avatar

I have now passed the two month mark for testing DMSO for Parkinson's and I am beginning to see things more clearly. However, before I report on DMSO, I would like to clarify my position as a research scientist and my history as a Person with Parkinson's.

I was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2018 at the age of 76. I soon realised that the so-called Gold standard therapy for PD was purely symptomatic i.e. it helped considerably with some (motor) symptoms but did nothing to slow down the progression of the disease. My professional research career had been in structural chemistry, so I decided to look into the chemistry rather than the neurology of the disease. This turned out to be a good choice because the very early stages of PD (up to 20 years before people are diagnosed, but also continuing throughout the disease), are associated with a chemical disorder occurring inside peripheral cells and neurons. This chemical disorder, called oxidative stress, damages cell membranes and mitochondria. It leads to the progressive destruction of a class of neurons that make dopamine and creates a shortage of this neurotransmitter in parts of the brain that control movement. The neurological symptoms which define PD (slowness, rigidity, postural stoop and tremor), only appear after the network of dopamine neurons has been so severely disrupted that some parts of the brain cannot function properly.

It turns out that it is much easier and quicker to fix the faulty chemistry than it is to repair the damaged neuron network. To cut a long story short, I set out to fix the faulty chemistry of my own disease by making a product that I hoped would stimulate the body's own internal mechanism (called the Nrf2 pathway) that normally controls excessive oxidative stress, but which appears to underperform for People with Parkinson's. That product was a beverage (Broccoli Seed Tea) containing a bioactive substance called sulforaphane. Sulforaphane has certain chemical similarities to DMSO in that they both have the same S=O group, but I suspected that DMSO might be able to get into the brain and stimulate the Nrf2 mechanism there, more easily than sulforaphane.

It turns out that sulforaphane is extremely good at controlling non-motor symptoms of PD, including constipation, fatigue, urinary urgency, balance issues, poor sleep and apathy. These can be very strongly attenuated, even totally suppressed in about 6 weeks by Broccoli Seed Tea, whereas motor symptoms (slowness, rigidity, tremor and postural stoop) are unaffected over the same timescale. There are even signs that, at high doses, or at the beginning of treatment, sulforaphane can cause an over-excited state (people say they feel "wired"), accompanied by an increase in tremor in the short term. I have been using various home-made sulforaphane products to control my own PD since 2020. In 2022, I introduced a very much improved version of Broccoli Seed Tea containing fully bioavailable sulforaphane that has been in use ever since.

Consequently, I am not the typical Parkinson's patient for testing DMSO, since I no longer have any non-motor symptoms, but I still have the full range of motor symptoms. This would seem to indicate that, in my case, the faulty chemistry has been largely brought under control by sulforaphane, especially in peripheral organs, but the damaged neuron network has not been repaired.

I began testing DMSO two weeks after stopping treatment with Sulforaphane. As indicated in previous documents, I began with an oral dose of 3.5 g and progressively increased the dose up to 20 g. At this dose I suffered severe pain, brain fog and headache which caused me to stop DMSO altogether. Two days after stopping, all my Parkinson's symptoms and pain disappeared entirely. Slowness became speed, rigidity became flexibility, postural stoop straightened out, tremor disappeared and my face was transformed. People around me said that I had never looked so good in a long time. Clearly, something good was happening. It only lasted a few days, but it was quite unforgettable.

Since then I have been trying to find the best dose of DMSO to treat my particular brand of Parkinson's (after 4 years of sulforaphane treatment). It is quite clear that DMSO does something in the brain that sulforaphane does not. DMSO affects motor symptoms of PD whereas sulforaphane attenuates non-motor symptoms. I cannot comment on whether DMSO might affect non-motor symptoms, because, apart from pain, I no longer have any.

Some interesting details have come to my attention, but remember, these might only apply to my case which is untypical.

- The best daily oral dose (for me) seems to be in the range 0.75 to 1.0 g, but I still need to explore lower doses over a longer period.

- There may be a case to explore dosing DMSO once or twice per week instead of once per day. I always feel my best the day after I stop DMSO.

- The order of improvement of non-motor symptoms (most improved first) is: slowness, stiffness, postural stoop, tremor.

- Nearly all pain and dystonia disappeared.

- Cramps were very much reduced.

- Eye irrigation improved. No more dry eyes in the morning.

- Urinary comfort and flow was much improved. Nocturia frequency was reduced.

At a daily dose above 1.5 g (tested several times), DMSO generated the following adverse effects:

- Slowness remained stable, but stiffness and postural stoop were much aggravated.

- I felt over-excited (wired).

- Tremors became constant and uncontrollable.

- Sleep became very erratic.

- Violent cramps came back in both legs, simultaneously.

- I suffered considerable pain in my knee, ankle and wrist joints. My knees were swollen and I could barely walk.

- Muscle strength, especially in the legs, declined considerably. Moving from a sitting to a standing position became very difficult.

All of these adverse effects disappeared within 2 days of stopping DMSO.

I do not have an explanation for the adverse effects. I hope "The Midwestern Doctor" will be able to enlighten me.

The most simple answer I can give is that the body often responds much better to pulsed dosing (e.g., every other day) than daily, and that more of something isn't always better.

Expand full comment
The Patient Researcher's avatar

I agree, less is better and pulsed dosing, once or twice per week, works best for sulforaphane. This fits in with the observation that the antioxidant enzymes expressed by Nrf2 have a half-life of a few days. I am not yet convinced that DMSO is activating Nrf2, rather that migjt be having a different effect on the brain network, such as exciting certain neuron pathways or overriding their inormal inhibition.

Do you have an idea what might be the cause of weak and swollen knees, weak ankles and muscle weakness at daily doses of DMSO above 1.5g. This reaction was perfectly reproducible and reversible. It felt more like a nerve signaling problem, a fault or weakness in the signals sent to the muscles and joints rather than an actual physical problem of the joints and muscles. At one point it felt like sciatica, the pain was similar, but it went away completely the day after I stopped DMSO. Could too much DMSO be affecting the myelin protection of the main Axon of DA neurons ? Just thinking out loud, not a hypothesis.

Hello Stephanie,

I have tried various oral dose regimens of DMSO for Parkinson's and each time I come back to the same dose range: 1.2 - 1.5 g per day. I had some bad sleep issues for a while, but I now realise that DMSO was not the cause.

Once the sleep issues were resolved, I find the same improvements as reported earlier.

After 7 weeks experimentation:

Pain of all kinds reduced by 80%,

Distonia and cramps reduced by 80%

Bradykinesia nonexistent

Stiffness down by 50%

Tremor comes and goes, but doesn't bother me as much as before because it is now painless, whereas before DMSO it was painful.

Fatigue mostly absent and there's usually a good reason for the occasional spells of fatigue.

Energy levels very high.

Suggestion: For those who are not, consider using the same units in your trials. Weight is far more accurate than volume measure. 1g DMSO=1.1g water so it's close enough. Personally, unless you have a small, fractional gram scale, I'd consider using drops for something this small.

My husband is 100% disabled Vietnam vet, agent orange. He's got diabetes, neuropathy, torn rotator cuff, bursitis in hips & PTSD. He's in pain all the time despite taking 12 different meds, including 800 mg Gabapentin 4x's/day, Lidocaine patches & diclofenac sodium gel.

He's had 5 back surgeries, 4 in just the past 4 years:

2013 - first lumbar surgery

2021 - cervical neck surgery;

2022 - lumbar surgery again;

2023 - re-do of 2022 lumbar because bone didn't heal properly & screws came loose;

2024 - redo of 2021 cervical because bone didn't heal properly & screws came loose.

As soon as I read your article I drove to Tractor Supply & bought DMSO gel for animals. I came home & lathered it on hubby's feet, shoulder & lower back & hips. He finally got relief - better than all the other pain meds he's taking! He's cheered up.

Thank you for telling us about DMSO!

See the work of Dr. Mark L. Gordon. Sometimes PTSD is related to undiagnosed traumatic brain injury from concussions, blast zone exposure, etc. www.tbimedlegal.com Also see Joe Rogan #1056 as a sort of intro to the work of Dr. Gordon with veterans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jN6eBH8CFc Dr. Gordon addresses brain inflammation and hormone deficiencies. I was trying DMSO for my hand pain, pictures indicate it could be duputryns so I used castor oil and dmso together on my hands and noticed no difference. I probably should have tried it longer. Our family has used DMSO for many years and alwasy got good results. But my right hand has gotten quite bad, I need to be so careful with what I do, and sometimes the tremor makes handwriting unreadable. And the pain makes it hard to sleep.

I have only managed pain in my hands through reading the books of DR> Sarno who writes on chronic pain and the cure for that. I suggest him when pain is chronic and responds to nothing else. Go to Amazon and find his books, healing back pain and others. Read all the reviews. You may see many who have cured their chronic hand pain. Get the books and see if you may be also one of us whom he has helped to get rid of pain. And you could try longer with DMSO as it seems to take some time to work. I swear by DR. Sarno for any aches and pains tho. God bless you!!

How do you use the ivermectin you get at the tractor supply? Is it the paste? Do you apply it topically for skin infections or are you taking it internally?

Expand full comment
LINCOLN LOVER's avatar

I never saw this question til now. We take the ivermectin paste internally. We measure out a piece of the jell according to our weight, put it in a shot glass with a bit of water and swallow it down whole in a gulp. It is very easy that way, no taste or anything. And it works to mitigate the flu/covid and all the symptoms as well as a prophylactic to keep healthy and safe from any parasites. We have not used it topically but may think of this in the future. We have had no ill side effects. We know a friend used it to cure his prostate cancer successfully, along with a couple other meds.

Expand full comment
K.Lib4's avatar

Do you take it only when you have symptoms? How do you figure the amount to take by weight?

Expand full comment
LINCOLN LOVER's avatar

No, we take it to prevent as well. The ivermectin comes in a tube as a jell and it has increments of weight on the tube. So you measure it accordingly to your weight and slice off a piece of the jell as you push it out of the tube. You will see this if you buy some. It is obvious and very easy.

This is an email I received from a reader:

I learned of DMSO and Cds when in Mexico during covid. I had had one hip

replaced and doctors were recommending my knee next. I never got the jab. Tore 3 muscles in my shoulder playing ball and fought off those doctors who wanted to do a replacement.

I've used ivermectin and CDS to keep the 'virus' away. A salve of dmso with other pain soothing creams to soften the cartilage, numb the pain so I  can keep my joints moving. Now, almost 5 years later I am 81 and playing pickleball as well as I  did 5 years ago, and playing with the young ones who Don't believe my age.

You are awesome thank you so much for the work you do. Also read ur article on DMSO. I found a recipe for hemorrhoids 2 tbsp cocoa butter, 1 tsp dmso, 0.5 tsp potassium iodide. After 4 treatments a 5 yr old internal hemorrhoid has shrunk at least in half.

I did this and it works! I found the protocol online at listen to your gut.

https://blog.listentoyourgut.com/dmso-based-protocols-for-intestinal-rectal-scar-tissue-video/

I gleaned the information off the site and figured out my own formula. At first I used coconut oil, Lugols Iodine, mixed with DMSO. I used a glass eye dropper to insert the mix.

After that, I mix up coco butter, lugols, and DMSO and poured mixture into plastic straws. Put in freezer. The straws make them very thin and easy to inset into the tender inflamed area.

I received immediate relief. With in a couple of minutes I felt relief. I could pass gas thirty minutes later.

No more blood in my stools. I also started a carnivore diet right after.

I’m also using the DMSO on my husband. He’s had a stroke and has Alzheimer’s/dementia. Hoping it helps him.

Carnivore definitely has. His COPD is gone!! Or at least he thinks it is as he is no longer on breathing treatments. He used to do six a day and we could not be to far away from his nebulizer. Now we are wondering if the COPD could of been food allergies? We just don’t know.

Oh, my tinnitus is gone! I put DMSO in my ears for about a week, however, I noticed a difference the first day.

Thank you for all you do. I really appreciate your Substack. When I have more money I will pay subscribe. Because your worth it.

Thank you so much!! I have grade 4 chondromalacia and basically no cartiladge left behind the kneecaps , due to a patellofemoral tracking disorder . Better than draining and steroid !! I have been using DMSO for years and extensively in the past few months for all sorts of things - on the skin, orally up my nose (with great relief for my minor but chronic sinus infections), it healed a chronic infection in my ears with only two treatments, shrank a haemorrhoid to about 10% and took away all itchiness and works magic on my lower back problems. I tolerate 75% to 100% in my nose and ears.

This stuff is absolutely magic.

Don't overthink it.

Just get a bottle of 100% pharmaceutical grade and distilled water and start experimenting. Don't abuse the poor cats. :-)

Start with 10% and put in your eyes and rub it in your skin all around the eyes. If tolerated, go up to 20%, 30%, 40% as high up as you can manage. This stuff works very quick so you should notice results in weeks if you do it daily.

It won't harm you if you are reasonable. Grow some balls man.

You won't regret it. Good luck

PS: Use it on other parts and take it orally - it feel really good.

Grateful ol gal here reading these comments after reading the publication MWD! Thank you isn’t enough for folks such as yourself that get this live saving, in depth, information out!

After reading some of the horrific health issues so many have endured, I feel a bit guilty for even commenting and asking……however, I’m a 56 year old woman that was diagnosed at the UC Davis Pain Clinic 20 years ago with Myofascial Pain Syndrome. It irks me when I’m thrown into the Fibromyalgia vat, but that’s beside the point. A long laundry list includes, hypothyroidism, Degenerative Disc Disease that’s so far resulted in lumbar fusion. Currently another disc is bulging and a disc in the neck for the first as well. Bone on bone left knee that’s had meniscus removal and I’m desperately trying to avoid a replacement! My back surgery was a living nightmare despite a truly good surgeon that did a good job. Due to the nature of the discs bulging, one almost bursting through the abdominal wall…I was opened up on both sides however. . It was the pain. Being on opioids for years, my pain could NOT be resolved. Screamed for hours, days actually, the O.R. nurse in tears that stayed well past her shift fearing she’d kill me from the literal elephant sized doses. They ran a central line in case…... I ultimately was in a rehab center for three weeks due to the pain. That was 2011 and through the years I’ve been able to live with a certain amount of pain in order to remain functional and lucid. I still take opioids but I’m far from pain free, nor do I expect to be, but I would love to completely stop them!

I take turmeric which has helped with some inflammation and I take a product called Heal and Soothe with some helpful enzymes, devils claw, rutin, and others I recently added topicals magnesium and vitamin D3.

If you’ve had someone with similar experiences, I’d be grateful to know how much to use, as well as, if it’d be better to take internally to deal with the inflammation of the fascia. I’d literally have to apply a topical from head to toe, so if I could avoid that aspect, it’d be great.

God bless you and God bless everyone here that’s dealing with so very much! My prayers are with all!

That being said, since you introduced your last article I have been using it with neurologically damaged patients , chronic pain, and patients with autoimmune diseases and at very first response the responses have been very positive- in line with the data you present. As I have explained the data you introduced me to patients and given them the option they are showing intense interest. I am excited to follow these outcomes.

This was a comment I received from a reader:

I've used topical DMSO for prostate issues and aches and pains with success. Can't advise this, but ingesting it reduced my abdominal distension in the upper GI. It's a double-edged sword and can be irritating and relieving at the same time if too strong. It seems to be useful for painful cancerous tumors, and given its anticancer properties and IV use in cancer treatment, I believe topical DMSO is a good add-on cancer treatment. It can also be instilled into the bladder or urethra for interstitial cystitis or prostate issue, and there is in fact a method of doing this without a catheter. Prostate can also be targeted with rectal DMSO. DMSO and magnesium oil (magnesium chloride) make a killer combo topical. Hyaluronic acid powder can be used to add viscosity and turn it into a gel. Hyaluronic acid takes a day to gel in water, but it instantly disperses in pure DMSO. Then if you add water, it immediately forms a usable gel, albeit not yet perfect. Topical DMSO is tolerated without skin side effects usually up to 70%. There is some literature on systemic reactions, so I would always do a sensitivity test before diving in. There is a supplier of low-odor DMSO which I have found does in fact smell less.

Thank you MWD for all of this useful information. I’m not too familiar with the Substack format so thought I’d ask for your input using dmso on varicose veins. I apologize if this has already been asked, I can’t find it if so. I have very thick, bulbous Varicose veins on my left upper calf and been using the dmso topically on them for around 2 weeks now. I wouldn’t believe it if I didn’t see it with my own eyes, but they are definitely decreasing in size each day, and they’re no longer painful. I can stand on my legs for long periods without the heaviness and pain I had before. Also, there’s some bruising around my ankle due to the veins and pressure, and those are also fading. I am so happy with these little results that I’m noticing and excited to keep up the dmso treatment. I’d love your thoughts on whether topical is the correct way to continue or should I start taking internal as well? These things have been an issue since my 20’s I’m now in my 50’s, but have heard a few horror stories about surgery and so I never had them removed. Thank you again for this treasure trove of information you’ve provided us thus far, I’m excited to keep reading!

Dear Dr AMD

Thanks for the DMSO series..I am amazed by your tenacity. I am sure you were sitting long hours on your research.. do take care health wise!! Nothing is worth that..

The Sanskrit word for Tree is Vriksha.. or Vriksham.

Tree stands tall moving straight up towards light a sign of positivity & with its feet inside earth and rest exposed to sun, a perfect example of good health…

We were taught to assimilate certain qualities from them.. like they can’t run away from danger..but face and adapt. I am sure the Tree uses DMSO to repair themselves ..so how can it be dangerous.

My grandmother lived with me till 101. When she stopped moving and was on her death bed she started developing bedsores. We cleaned her back and applied 80% DMSO and her skin became normal in just a matter of days… at 101. Talk about miracles & with five doctors in the family not being able to comprehend!!

Your Substacks are not just about health its much more…. Its about life and meaningful living!!

Saddest part is you have to do this incognito.. & we claim we are liberated, free, progressed and evolved… funny!!

Wish I could meet you sometime in my life.. maybe whenever you are in India..

My Pranams to you Dr. AMD

That is one beautiful, comprehensive compilation of facts MWD. One of the points you made has triggered an original thought about DMSO being used to POTENTIALLY defuse the spike protein...I mention this because a long while ago, I read that DMSO acts as "a protein folding chaperone". The foreign protein injection (Covid vaxx) will (I believe) cause protein misfolding, then aggregating as amyloid plaque...which is one thing that DMSO seems likely to prevent...I have no proof, only a God-given brain to perceive the possibility. Perhaps you may have considered this possibility and have a way to prove it...imagine the uproar...disabling the murderous cartel's spike self-replicating death jab using DMSO...We just love you, Midwestern Doctor...phenomenal work you have done. P.s. I have another (historic) DMSO miracle to share...I am a retired Professional Fire Fighter, a tradesman, with skills across a very wide cross-section, many of which involve the use of extreme heat application, and as you may expect, have experienced severe burns on occasion. I mention here only one instance...about 10 years ago, a third degree burn to the pad of the index finger on the left hand...it was a dreadful burn...the skin was destroyed well into the flesh...I dipped the finger multiple times for several days in 99.999% DMSO, and gradually, from perimeter toward center, over two weeks, the pad of the finger was totally healed, pink, normal capillary refill, no pain, and perfect fingerprint still there. I am still in awe, that DMSO works so well with the human body to enable healing on such a dramatic scale. Praise God. (Also, I can now report that My wife is now back on her feet, after 10 days post injury...DMSO at 75% (25% distilled water) applied topically to the lower back 3-4 times per day...after about 6-7 days, she noticed a little tingling in the skin...I believe the tingling to be an indication that the treatment is working, as it should, healing damaged tissue and removing inflamation...allowing subtle chiropractic adjustments to be made, and achieving success... Thanks to all those who prayed for her, and offered help...she and I are both grateful.

Hi David, according to Dr. Bryan Ardis [www.thedrardisshow.com], nicotine is a nutrient and will rid your body of the spike proteins. Consider a patch-- he discusses dosages being a 2 mg of 3 mg patch. He favors the Rugby brand.

He quotes a study showing that the spike proteins of COVID-19 are nearly identical to those of two snake venoms which bind to the body's nicotine receptors. Using nicotine patches will unbind the venom which results in health!

In one study he discusses that 7 mg nicotine patches were given to multiple Long-Haul COVID-19 sufferers who were asked to wear it for six days straight.

The result?

100% of their symptom disappeared.

I'd first recomend his video, "The Explosive Truth, Origin, and Antidote for C19" at his site which will blow you away. His new book came out the last week of September and is sold out on Amazon! But you can order it from his site.

Also consider his PDF on nicotine (in the Resources section) and watch his 3-hour expose on nicotine.

Good luck to you, David.

I'm very curious about nicotine -- the Native Americans used tobacco (and taught the cowboys to use it, too) for snakebites, because apparently it is far more attracted to the Ae2 (?) receptor site than snake venom (and thus the spike protein) and nicotine supposedly kicks the spike protein out of the receptor site, according to Ardis. I also watched another researcher's video of the spike protein in a Petri dish under a microscope when nicotine was introduced and it absolutely destroyed the spike protein -- very convincing (in a dish)! Native Americans also used tobacco in other healing efforts -- and of course, in their peace pipes; they considered it a sacred herb.

However, I think the Harvard meta-analysis is hooey and probably purposely so (who trusts anything out of Harvard these days?). As a former smoker (20 years clean), I quickly went from 2 mgs/day to 20 mags/day! Not because I was afraid of the spike protein at that dose, but because it seems to work wonders for my brain fog and fatigue due to "long-Covid" (never vaxxed, but shed upon). I did quit chewing the gum for 2 weeks, but my brain fog returned full force. I'm now down to 14 mgs/day and doing a natural, comprehensive, 5 month brain detox program. I'm only a week into it , so I'm going on hope alone at this point.

Dr. Ardis cites a 2015 Harvard study showing that the addictive ingredient in tobacco are the pyrazines the companies add, not nicotine. We've been lied to about nicotine, as it is found in the nightshade vegetables, etc. Very few smokers got sick with COVID-19! Now we know why.

It's odor from skin and clothes, not breath. I don't know about the "reductive stress" thing, I just know that after 3.5 years of 'long COVID" involving Hashimoto's and EBV, I have finally beaten both the fatigue and the auto-immune disease and I have regained my strength (used to be a competitive double century cyclist so that is no small claim).

https://www.midwesterndoctor.com/p/dmso-revolutionizes-skin-care-and/comment/79682099

I'm sorry I wasn't clear, there is a followup comment I made that clarified.

In brief, I do not credit DMSO for curing Hashimoto's. That happened a year prior when everything started feeling right again and the TPO antibody levels got cut in half. While a major improvement, I did not regain my former strength, not even close.

HOWEVER, since I have started using DMSO, I have regained all my former strength back and I can do my 1000 kCal ride now and feel fine. Perhaps it is a coincidence and perhaps not. But it wasn't until after I started the DMSO that I felt the energy surge. Examples of what I expect to be able to do for excercise:

https://windinmyface.com/autoTopic.html?dglyTP=hard%20core

To put it into numbers, I have a lab grade power meter on my bike. I was languishing at 140-160 watts most of this year and with no vigor. After DMSO, power has surged to the 180-200W range, which is where my out of shape body should be at nearly 60 years old.

I have been applying mainly to feet and upper legs and lower legs as these areas seem to react the least to its irritating effects (I use the 99.995% stuff). It allows me to get more into my system by using those areas.
