I don't think it's so much "girls don't care or like that stuff" as it is both men AND women who are genuine fans of whatever IP it is recognize the bullshit pandering, lazy writing, and ideological shoehorning in these new adaptations. It really sucks because it does such a disservice to women like myself who grew up with these franchises and cherish them for what they are, only to see them bastardized because "it'll appeal to us."

Funny thing, my wife is also a huge nerd like me and she also thinks this movie and the other marvel movies that recently came out are dog shit.
She told me that she hated the fact the entire thing is just shoving down the throat anything related to social and political things.
So this entire premises that this wasn't made for just guys or girls, it was made for a minority of people that need constant reminder that they are on the "good side" and that every story of a black character is the same, black guy=good but poor, white= rich and evil
