The Life of Drew
Non-FictionDrew is based off of me. This is from my story on instagram, but an edited version.
Drew wasn't much of a drinker, in fact, he had only been drunk once before. It happened in 7th grade with a friend from school. In September, sometime before Labor Day, Drew went over to his friend Daphne's house for the weekend. Drew had his mom drive him the thirty minutes to Daphne's house after school because he didn't feel comfortable riding the bus home with Daphne. He always got extremely anxious before going to a friend's house for the first time, or any other time really.Daphne greeted him in the driveway as Drew and his mom pulled up. Drew breathed in really hard and exhaled for a few seconds, and then got out of the car. He opened the van door and got his weekend bag out from the back. Drew didn't say much because he was nervous, but after a while he would warm up and not stop talking. He did that a lot. He greeted Daphne's parents; they were extremely nice and very open. They had guests on the back porch and they were grilling some meat. Drew and Daphne went to her room and Drew set down his stuff on Daphne's bed. Daphne shared a room with her two other sisters. She even had tape on the floor marking where her space was. Her sisters were at their friends' houses, so Drew could sleep in one of their beds for the night since Daphne only had a twin sized bed.Daphne's cousin Bryce arrived not long after Drew did. Bryce was older than both of them, but much shorter and skinnier. Bryce talked to Drew a lot and he quickly got comfortable talking to Bryce. They hung out with Daphne's parents on the porch. Daphne took Drew inside to the kitchen, and told Drew that her parents let her drink on occasion. She asked her parents if she could make her and Drew a drink. At first they were hesitant because they thought Drew would tell his mother, but Drew quickly told them that he did many things he didn't tell his mom about, like smoking cigarettes with his old friend Hannah, or inhaling keyboard duster to hallucinate. They said yes eventually, and Drew, Daphne, and Bryce all went into the kitchen again. Daphne pulled out the orange juice of the fridge while Bryce got some kind of flavored rum from the cabinet to the left of the fridge. Daphne got three plastic cups, poured ice in them, and then poured rum and orange juice in. Drew didn't like the taste, but he didn't want to complain, so he drank it anyways. Daphne, Bryce, Drew, and Daphne's mom walked down the road to see Daphne's girlfriend Heather. It took him half an hour to finish the drink because he drank slowly and didn't like the taste of it. Daphne and Bryce were on their third drink within an hour, while Drew was only beginning his second drink. They all went to change into their bathing suits because Daphne had a pool connected to her back porch. They swam for a while, holding their drinks while wading in the water, and sipping on it occasionally.Daphne's parents joined them and after a while they had all became quite tipsy. Daphne's father had been telling stories of when he was a kid, and all the wild things he used to do. Her mother mentioned how her family was full of nudists, and how Daphne's family often walked around naked. Drew didn't think much of it, in fact he thought it was kind of cool. Daphne and Bryce took off their bathing suits and were still wading in the water of the pool. Her mother and father followed soon after. Drew didn't want to be left out or seem like a prude, so he also took off his bathing suit. They all eventually got out of the pool to sit at the table on the back porch. Daphne's mother went into the kitchen and brought out many shot glasses and a few different kinds of liquor.Drew had never done shots before and was nervous, but quite excited. It could've been the alcohol already in his system that made him decide to take 6 shots, or it could've been his adventurous curiosity. After those shots, things began to become fuzzy and dizzy-looking. He stood up to go take a dip in the pool, and Daphne joined him.He didn't really know what he was doing, and before he knew it, he had his legs around Daphne's shoulders and Daphne was eating him out while he was floating in the water. He knew people were watching, but didn't really care. He didn't remember how long it went on for, and the last thing he remembered was getting out of the water, standing up, and then being on the ground with Daphne's father overlooking him, asking him if he was okay and laughing. Drew laughed and he helped him up.Drew woke up the next morning in a shirt that was not his. He had been put in one of Daphne's father's shirts and had been placed in one of Daphne's sister's bed. He surprisingly didn't have a hangover, just a slight sensitivity to light. He climbed out of the bed, and looked over to Daphne in her bed.He didn't think that Daphne would have a hangover because he didn't. He woke Daphne up and asked how he got in only her dad's shirt. Apparently her mother put Drew in the shirt after Drew blacked out. Daphne looked up and discovered herself covered in her own vomit, which made Drew laugh. Daphne had a raging hangover and was still naked. Part of her hair was sticking up from where her vomit had dried, and she touched it and made a face of disgust. She told Drew she was going to take a shower and Drew started to get dressed.Apparently the night before, Drew had placed his phone in some water on the table, and he only remembered what he had done when he tried to turn his phone on. Luckily for him, Daphne and he both had the same phone, so he switched out the batteries and pretended like nothing happened. He texted his mom to come get him and got his things together. He left while Daphne was still in the shower, but left a note. Drew's mom didn't notice that he was acting weird. Drew was wearing sunglasses, which he never did because he had transition lenses on his glasses, to keep his mom from seeing his eyes, just in case he looked hungover. They did errands in town before going home, where Drew crashed and woke up at three in the afternoon.
