The Vinemaiden is a genderless, hostile Overworld predator. They spawn buried in the ground and will only pop out when something that they hunt draws near. They will attack Players, Cows, Sheep, Pigs, Goats, Wolves, Pillagers, and Vindicators. The won't target any of the animals in this list if they are full. Vinemaidens will spawn in Meadows, Flower Forests, Swamps, Old Growth Spruce and Pine Taigas, and Mushroom Fields.
To be tamed, Vinemaidens must meet 3 criteria:
- They must be currently digesting something
- They must be under the Glowberry High effect
- The player must right click them with Bonemeal If all three of these are met, the Vinemaiden will be tamed. From there the player can right click her to cycle between modes of Following, Wandering, and Waiting. Right clicking them with Bonemeal will consume that Bonemeal and generate an item matching their foliage disguiuse (flower/sweet berry/mushroom).
If a player has the Delectable Scent effect and sneak + right clicks a Vinemaiden they have tamed, they will feed themselves to it. Be careful though as they cannot control their acids and will begin to digest you if you do not feed them a Neutralizing Water first.
Once a Vinemaiden reaches its max weight gain state, it can be reproduced using Golden Bone Meal. If the Vinemaiden was not tamed, it can still be reproduced if it has the Glowberry High effect. This will create a Vinemaiden Seedling and shed all of the weight from the Vinemaiden that created it. This will not reset the Vinemaiden's stat gains from gaining weight, but it will not get any more stat increases from gaining weight back.
