The quality of the artwork at Tokyo’s Tower of Terror is impressive. Also, the story stands on its own without the need for any previous knowledge or brand recognition...which is a stronger form of storytelling to begin with. But there sure are a lot of familiar faces!
- Oh wow that looks like someone an imagineer but I can't quite figure out which one. Maybe it's Mary blair
- Are there any plans for more references to SEA to be brought to WDW? It sucks that america gets the least cool SEA stuff
- I’m sure you can’t comment on this, @joerohde, but I often wonder how attractions based on original IP, like Pirates, was affected, positively or not, by the addition of current brand recognition- like adding in all the movie elements - did that make it a better experience per se, or was it more a “we need keep the ride relevant by adding in Johnny Depp!”, and the ride would have still had the same numbers? Would it have been more dated by not adding in the move franchise? I know The Haunted Mansion movie didn’t do extremely well, but had it, would we have eventually seen Eddie Murphy interspersed throughout the ride, and Leota Toombs replaced with Jennifer Tilly, to make the attraction “more relevant”?
